Raw Video / 70D and dual Iso
« on: June 16, 2017, 03:46:15 PM »
I really hope thats the right corner to post in + nothing I could have overlooked somewhere... I was really searching a lot for it and coulnd't find something helpful.

I have the Canon 70D, everything is working better and better in Magic Lantern. I just want to get dual Iso recording to get started. It is included in the Magic Lantern Build for the 70D, but as soon as I want to enable it (I can change all the options, both iso's etc) but Magic Lantern says at the bottom "dual iso does not work in movie mode on your camera"... Is it because of the writing speed of the camera, because the camera is just not able to do that or because it never got implemented / final programmed for that camera? I know that the 600D is able to record Raw and Dual Iso and the writing speed is below the one of a 70D. Will it ever be included for the 70D ?

Second question: Does it take more space (and therefore writing speed) if you record in dual Iso? Or is the program just "splitting" the sencor in 2 and the converter does the "magic" in the end?

Thanks a lot!

I searched alot here, on Google and Youtbe but couldn't find any help... My 70D says that Dual Iso does not work in movie mode on this camera. But why? Is it because of the writing speed? I remember that the 600D and 700D have this option and their writing speed is below of the writing speed of the 70D. I want to make those brilliant HDR Videos with the Dual Iso...

General Chat / Extrem ISO Noise
« on: March 16, 2017, 07:28:16 PM »
I am using the Canon 70D with the 18-55mm IS STM Canon Standart Lense.

I installed Magic Lantern, everything is working well so far except one little / big problem...

When I am filming, I try to use good settings like always ISO 100 and if its too dark, I use bright movie lights and all that stuff. The Live-View Window always looks good and I going to record it, but the RAW result looks extremly more dark than the Live-View Window. It's sometimes not too bad so I try to convert the RAW file with the Magic Lantern Raw Converter to DNG files, make it a clip in Black Magic Resolve and put a Colorgrade on it. But as soon I try to make it a little bit more brighter, everything starts to get hard ISO noise and it looks like recorded with iso 12.000 with only a candle as light setup, even when I recorded it with big lights or even in the brightes sun. What do I do wrong? Is it me? The settings? The Lense? Or is it not possible for the camera sensor?

I hope someone can help me.
