Camera-specific Development / Re: Canon 80D
June 11, 2019, 11:01:24 AM
I have an 80D on my desk. No knowledge of how to code but can learn. If someone can link me to the source code and a port tutorial I can do my best to get the port up and running.

Plug-In Manager -> Status
Path? Version? Status?

Applications/Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.app/contents/plugins/cr2hdr.lrplugin

This plugin is enabled, but has encountered some problems

failed to find a place for the imported file.

I'm guessing LR doesn't recognize the way the images are titled

You can't use LR's RAW engine to process unconverted Dual-ISO files. Why do you think there is a plug-in if it is not needed?

I've already tried the plugin as stated before in my previous comment. Everytime I faced error #256. Anyways, your condescension is greatly appreciated.  :P

F#@$-ing brilliant. Shows how much I know about computers  :-[
I owe you one. I needed this tip a long time ago.
Any other tips on ways to get the most out of editing dual ISO images?
I'm specifically wondering if editing the dual ISO images SOOC in lightroom despite the crazy colors and stripe lines does anything differently than editing the DNG spat out by MLP

I'm completely lost..I know nothing of coding. I'm trying to edit dual ISO images from my 70D and the LR plugin simply doesn't work. Tried installing binaries for MLP and that seemed to work. Now I have no clue what I actually need to do in order to edit these files of mine.

Guys...All I want is a simple application or plugin that can allow me to work with Dual ISO files. I know I'm probably asking a lot, but, my dream is to not have to learn what binaries are, where they go, how to code, having to type suffix IMG_1234 Dualiso nonsense, or bend over backwards trying to get things to work. The lightroom plugin on mac yields Error #256 and CR2HDR just says 'THE END' when dragging files in. Tried getting MLP to work but there are no clear instructions for the less code-savvy folk like myself.

Any update? Trying to find a way to process these dual ISO cr2's on my mac with LR 5. Help!

Can someone(or anyone) share their recording durations when shooting raw video? I'm only able to get 2s with a 90mb/s card before it says 'skipped' and stops recording.

ok that could mean that I need to privide adtg_gui for 70D_111B. You guys would have to check the adtg registers.

Anyone else able to confirm dual_iso not working on 70D_111B???

Dual ISO does work...albeit it looks kinda funny for image review (maybe that's because I've never used ML before and am seeing everything for the first time). I had the Err 70 when reviewing images taken with dual ISO and trying to disable the Canon overlays by pressing 'Info' a few times. It's likely that I overwhelmed the camera by doing too much at once. After restarting I've noticed that when reviewing dual ISO images, they normally cycle every second from bright to dark, but slow down when scrolling through pictures.
My biggest issue with ML is how it automatically backs out of the 'Q' mode in any setting I select if I don't press any buttons for 5 seconds. I can navigate the main menu just fine, but every submenu is a trick to use. Example: Trash can > ML Main menu > Overlay > Focus Peak > Threshold > *Poof!* back to shooting mode. This doesn't happen all the time, but for some power cycles it's omnipresent.

Error 70 when using dual-ISO in photo mode: Battery pull fixes
Restarting turns off modules (They are automatically disabled during crashes)
Getting some funny colors in between power cycles.
Will provide crash log when I can.

Been testing nonstop
Any way to have focus peaking work in conjunction with magic zoom?

Build 'Nightly.2015Apr21.70D111B.zip' First impressions:

Overlays
-Zebras: OK
-Focus Peak: OK
-MagicZoom: OK
-Cropmarks: OK
-Ghost Image: OK - Auto Update a little buggy
-Spotmeter: OK
-False Color: OK
-Histogram: OK
-Waveform: OK
-Vectorscope: OK

Shoot
-Advanced Bracket: OK
-Intervalometer: OK
-Bulb Timer: OK
-Motion Detect: ?*
-Mirror Lockup: ?
-Flash Tweaks: ?

*?=Haven't tested yet

Main issue is whenever I'm navigating through the menu the camera likes to jump back into shooting mode.

I'm happy to tell all of you guys that Nikfreak and A1ex have done great job to get magic lantern to work on 70D version B. At this moment i have it running on my camera and testing that everything works.

I may have loaded the wrong build!  :-[ I'm getting a black screen whenever I turn on cam with the SD card in. If I remove the card and the battery and reinsert the battery without the card it turns on. HELP!
<<FIXED>>
Nikkifreak is amazing

This is an update for everyone with a different firmware than the rest of us.
For users who are unable to install because they have an earlier camera unit: Nikki is working with a few of us on making an alternate firmware installer. So far nothing is functioning but we are close to having ML installed on all the 70D's that don't fit the existing criteria. Thank you for waiting patiently.
<<UPDATE>>
Binary for 111B is working! Now waiting for a working build! Big thanks to Nikki and a1ex for the progress!

hi,

I followed the video and it still does not work: /

it does not matter .
I select update and installs but when he returns to the screen it nothing happens he not tell me that magic lantern is installed and when pressing on the garbage that does not matter

Bonjour, mis ton SD et utiliser le function: "Format Card" avant installation. Unzip ML sur ton SD et mis dans ton camera. Prends un photo avant installation.

Been following this thread since day one. And new user here! I just wanted to thank nikifreak and everyone else who's helping for working so hard. For users constantly asking if it'll work for their camera, please read the first post. For users constantly asking when it will work for all 70D models, please read the first post. Personally, I am happy to wait however long I need to. I'd much rather use a finely tuned camera than one with buggy software. Needless to say I'm still anxiously waiting! Keep up the great work everyone. I'm showing this thread to all my 70D friends and telling them to donate.
