You may want to try "10/12-bit RAW video" experimental build.

Thanks man!

One more question: any thoughts on what makes sense as the optimal SD card for this camera's bottle necks?

Modules tab -> mlv_lite.mo ON -> restart cam -> Movie tab -> RAW video -> Data format

Thanks but that "Data Format" menu item doesn't exist in my version

I am running:  magiclantern-lua_fix.2018Mar21.600D102.zip

Which build are you running?

Hey!

Can someone help me enable 10bit raw - I've searched all the menus, I've searched the forum, I've installed the latest experimental build....

I'm a fairly experienced MLV user having shot many projects on my old 5D3. Recently acquired a 600d for view finding. I feel like there is something blindingly obvious I am missing

Raw Video / Workflow advice for deleting unused MLV
November 09, 2015, 12:49:32 AM
Anyone got a good workflow for deleting unused MLVs?

I used MLVFS and end up grading in Davinci. I would love a way to auto-delete all unused MLVs, and would consider any work flow that allows for it (including non MLVFS). I currently archive the prores 4444s from my final premiere edit but would ideally like to keep the .MLVs as every time I get better at editing I wish I could go back to fix up old projects.

Cheers,

Hey!

I've been searching for information regarding CompressMLV.dmg and its integration into MLVFS:
-it says testing on the 1st post of this page, whats your experience of using it? (i do want to compress for archival and general space saving during project use)
-how much slower is it?
-would you recommend it?

A final unrelated question: has anyone worked out a way to keep your project MLVs only (auto delete unused ones, preferably via davinci)?

Raw Video / MLV_dump subtract resulting in Purple band
October 07, 2015, 12:16:29 PM
I've attempted to subtract a dark frame with-in MLV_dump. The resulting MLV has a purple band cross the lower third which is visible when opened in AE, Photoshop, Davinci Resolve. Does anyone have a solution? Or an efficient way of incorporating FPN removal into a work flow?

Please accept my apologies if this has already been asked, I have attempted to search but to no avail.

Is there any chance of MLFVS being able to reference a pool of dark frames (1 for each ISO), and then subtract it on the fly?

I understand I can do it per clip with MLV_dump but would rather use a more efficient method. I am having a tough time bringing in FPN removal to my work flow. My subtract experiments work much better in AE (Davinci Resolve seems to massively darken image instead, maybe i'm doing it wrong). AE isn't so great for my .xml workflow and I would much rather be working Davinci.

I have started to experience a problem with MLVFS.

MLVFS has worked great for a few months. Now every so often when I go to load a large folder (500GB) of MLV for us in Davinci it just won't load. The MLFVS folder keeps ejecting its self, or Davinci doesn't see that the files are in davinci mode and instead see's empty folders. I end up restarting my computer about 10 times, reloading the folder over and over and eventually the problem is solved. It's then permanently solved and I can load and unload the footage repeatedly no problem. It seems to happen when have round tripped back to Davinci having not loaded the MLFVS for a while.

Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone know how to overcome it in a timely manner?

Cheers,

Hey!

Thanks for this app! - it has certainly saved me many hours of conversions and wondering wether to keep originals etc.

Can anyone recommend a work flow for deleting unused clips with in Davinci Resolve? I used to update usage data then delete one by one from my folders, but now they are virtual folders so the files arn't real :D

Nevermind I figured it out somewhat. It doesn't look like other peoples screen shots but I can access the mounted folders.

Ive tried to search this thread for the answer but I can't seem to find it.

MLVFS does not show up in the Davinci Resolve library for me (11 lite).  In OSX I can mount the files fine and they appear in the sidebar of finder. I have selected 'naming scheme Davinci resolve'.

Ah I see. Ok cool. Various blog post guides to ML advocate Rawmagic which is why I ended up using it.

Which one do you recommend?

I did notice that the DNGs that came out of MLRV are only 1mb vs the 2.4mb from Rawmagic (12 bit).

Thank you! You are correct MLRV DNGs were just incorrectly represented in Finder. They work perfectly in Resolve.

However with out knowing why this happened I now have a permanent problem. How many parts of my Rawmagic conversions have been lost since I started using it? I really don't want to check every file I ever convert by viewing it in MLRV.

I had a quick glance at your App, like the sound of it and will certainly give it a go.

Hey,

I have a MLV raw file that is approx. 18,000 frames. When I convert these to DNG using RawMagic it only converts approx. 12,000. I know this because I can actually view all the frames in MLRawViewer. The file is spanned over 8 files approx. 31gb in size. It was recorded on a 32gb card and did not run out of memory, I actually manually stopped the recording before the card filled up. 2 of the spanned files (.MLV and .M02) are 4.28gb instead (not sure if this is relevant).

Does anyone have a solution? I've tried to export from MLRawViewer but all the frames are crazy pink.

Please excuse me if there is a topic on this - I have tried to search but mainly find answers about .raw and changing the header.

Cheers,
