Let me know what do you think about the picture quality.

Very high definition - good colors. If your purpose was to get a nice digital video look (not especially cinematic), you succeded.

No problem, I was just asking because sometimes raw footage doesn't mix well with other cameras. The drone shots are great, extremely sharp, and it can be difficult to reach the same sharpness with some ML cameras. Not with the 5D III, though.

General Development / Re: Dealing with Focus Pixels in raw video
« on: May 09, 2023, 06:38:20 PM »
Hi all
Found something interesting with dealing focus pixels, adjusting adtg2{8190} from 0x10 to 0xf almost reduce focus pixels from capture RAW  files, looks like work in blue channel pixels

First take with 0x10 second with 0xf
Focus pixels correction mapping is off in MLV app
Please watch in 4k
Its a standart 5x3 mode, because adtg module doesnt work with cropmood , and I'm not a developer :(

Definitely improved. Is sharpness affected?

Which lens did you use? And which resolution? When you switch from drone to 5d it looks like you missed the focus. Too much blur, sorry.

Hi Dmytro_ua,
can you tell us a bit about it? Easy to see in daylight? Ports and ergonomics? Max screen resolution with ML raw?

This looks very interesting, especially for real estate work. Great job.

It's very common on youtube, there are some people who create good music and they have like 100 subs or so. Most people don't usually see these channels because 99% of recommended videos are with over a million views, or from very popular creators. so people just don't have a way to find such authors, it can only happen by accident, or like here on the forum.

Definitely yes for only music channels, but he's got other content like the tree talks which are quite original, I think there should be interest for meditation-inspirational videos of very high production quality like his. But maybe I'm wrong and this is common as you say.

Just subscribed. Although I am not particularly into your kind of music or zen talks, I admire your effort in producing top quality videos for a channel that seems completely ignored Tube-wise. Best wishes to you too!

2nd time I come to watch this and find it really excellent, locations, footage, music, all well chosen and thought out.
BTW, I think the drone shots fit very well IMO

Basic solution you have to use the latest build.
I suppose after two and a half years the OP may have found a solution  ;)

seems like a way from canon to prevent the date change timer reset
It's been reported the timer reset hack is still working with firmware 1.1.1

Not bad, though I don't quite understand the choice of a wrong aspect ratio. Also the editing loses rhythm and can't keep up with the mood after about 30''

Post-processing Workflow / Re: Remove aliasing and moire on 1:1 H.264?
« on: September 20, 2020, 09:06:53 PM »
Just record RAW and all will be easier. H.264 won't become much better than it is.
Yes, but he wrote about existing footage, so probably not redoable at this point.
I had good results by scaling H264 footage in GigapixelAI,  it is by far the best software I could find to salvage photos or videos.

Flynt,

Although I appreciate your efforts to adjust the same field of view and film these comparative shots, they may create the wrong impression that the 5k anamorfic mode is much more inferior in terms of image quality than the 3k 1x1 mode.    The crop mode uses much smaller  sensor area, therefore the depth of field is much larger causing much more of the image to appear sharp.  The lack of sharpness in large areas of the anamorphic shots is attributed to the much smaller depth of field which creates an overall impression of a soft image.  Those areas are soft not because of lack of resolution or inferior image quality but because of defocus.  If you want to be correct with the comparisons, in your anamorphic shots, you will need to close the apperture to achieve equal depths of field in both modes.

In fact, image quality of the 5k anamorphic mode is so good that it is barely distinguishable from 3k.  This is evident from the pink flower shots where depth of field for both modes is large enough for the entire flower to appear in sharp focus.  I use 5k anamorphic for landscape videography all the time and it resolves fine detail perfectly.  Videos look gorgeous on large high-resolution screens.

IDA_ML, although I understand your point, there is in fact a great loss of detail in 5k, also in the pink flower shot (first rose I guess) which you consider sharp in both modes. The difference is immediately noticeable to my eyes.
