Hi.

Canon 5dMkIII - firm. 123

-When i choose too record with focus peak and a very screen (I like it better than colors), the display won't change to grey?

-After taking photos, I have a two sek preview. The preview has a ML overlay, like fokus peak, brightness and histogram. Actually I just want to have a clean image without overlay, isn't that possible?

Thanks.

Best/

(a) the newest version is CC 2014 (v8.0)
(b) i dont know rawmagic, but a setting like 12bit should work in premiere.
(c) [vimeo] your output seems quite ok. its flat, with a lot of headroom to adjust the material. speedgrade? internal videoeffects?

Ahh, you're right by 8.0 (my bad). But i'm using 8.0, but i really prefer the ACR workflow? But as you can see, it won't transfer the adjustment to PP after editing.  >:(

Dear everone.

As everyone probably know, Premiere Pro CC (7.2.2) now supports cDNG from ML. But unfortunately it doens't work, even though I'm using the newest version RawMagic (1.1.2). I'm facing to issues.

First of all, the PP version of the video seems rather green and dark, but when it opens in ACR i't seems fine (as you can see in the video below). Next, when I'm editing the video and finishing by clicking "Done", it will not transfer the result to PP (as shown in the video).

I've tried different combinations of "Camera Model", "White Balance", "16 bit" and "Vertical Strips" in RawMagic, but apparently it gives different results. Everything works fine through AE, but this solutions could be much faster.

That is correct, it doesn't matter if it's .raw or .mlv, once converted to CDNG, you'll be able to work with it in Premiere.

I still think you need the paid version of RAWMagic to be able to get CDNG which display correctly in Premiere.

I will give the paid version a try.  Thanks.

Maybe I'm about to pay a fairly high price for not keeping my self updated  :(

I've recorded a whole wedding in .raw as i usually do (because I haven't paid much attention about the .mlv format). I'm using a RAWmagic workflow, i.e. convert to cDNG -> AE -> Lossless out -> Import PP. But as I can see, it is now possible to import cDNG directly to PP without AE. But does it really require a .mlv format? I mean, it's gonna be a cNDG format anyway?

Thomas.

I'm using RAWMagic Lite 1.1.3. ?

Maybe i'm doing the import procedure wrong? I'm using the "Media browser"?

But it's still pink? I don't understand why.

martin_a is correct, in Premiere Pro CC 2014 the intended workflow for all 'raw' footage is to import CinemaDNG then grade in Speedgrade - not in ACR. This is the only way to deliver realtime hardware-accelerated playback - the rendering engines in Sg and Pr are Mercury-enabled whereas the ACR "develop" module route is an old-school frame server. Because you can now pass a project back and forth between Sg and Pr it doesn't matter which one you start in.

If you really want to stay with ACR then pipe your footage through an After Effects comp - but of course you'll lose MPE playback.

DFM, according to the mentioned AE/ACR workflow. Do you start in AE and then render lossless and import in PP? Or do you make some "dynamic link"?

Hi everyone.

When i googled the "pink overlay" problems i realise that I'm not the only one having this issue. But i can't really find a soloution, do you know if there is any?

Pasted from an adobe forum (with the exact same problem):
"When I import 5D II cinemadng's into Premiere 7.1, the footage comes in with a weird pink overlay. It's not just a tint shift, but some sort of color distortion. After Effects and Photoshop both read the file just fine via Camera Raw. Is anyone else having this issue or know any solution?"

It's a 5dII.. ?

Vertigopix: I know. But I'm in movie mode. Just to be sure, movie mode is activated on the "LIVE VIEV" button?

Thanks.

But can you tell me where I find the latest build which is not alpha one?

I've installed the ML Alpha One on my 5d MkII,  but even though I'm in movie mode the ML tells me that "This feature only works in movie mode". The menu is "grayed out" but when I push the record button the camera actually record (very unstable though).

What am I doing wrong?
