You have to load the .ini file.  And I don't think it's working properly on 5D3.  This is something I want to look at myself.

Nanomad made some excellent changes to the backend:  https://bitbucket.org/hudson/magic-lantern/pull-request/398/make-core-ml-support-multiple-card-slots/diff

Ideally it would be nice to have simple things like bitrate changes available from the menu without having to reload different .ini files.  But I'll work on getting .ini files working first.

Yea I loaded the .ini file but as you said it's missing some things including the ability to change the bitrate. Looking forward to when it's available!

Hey, was just flicking through the nighty build I have on my 5D mk III and couldn't find the h.264 module that allowed me to change the data rate. Is that not supported as of yet?

Also noticed two raw modules - one called mlv_rec.mo and another called raw_rec.mo any difference between these two?

Raw Video / Re: RAW disables randomly during record...

This has happened to me a few times as well, although I can't remember what I did to produce the problems.

From the tests I'v been doing I have processed the RAW files in RawMagic, opened the DNG's up in ACR within After Effects, applied vision-log and adjust the white balance then I export all my shots from AE as ProRes 4444. I then bring all my shots into Premiere.

Been working great for me so far, on windows the best alternative to Prores is Avid's DnxHD codec.

Got 110mb/sek write on my new 128Gb 1050x KB -card (Crystal Mark). Was able to to fill up the hole card att full HD 25fps with global draw and zacuto EVF. Tested it a couple of times with different settings and had some stops at the half way full mark. I guess there is a slower area somewhere there in the middle. Haven't tested it without EVF and Global draw yet.

The camera got pretty hot when I filled up the whole card. It reached 73C. Not sure if that kind of temperature are potentially harmful or not. Anyone who knows what kind of temperatures the hardware ar designed to handle?

I asked about that a few times and the responses I got was the temp averages at about 70ºC on general run n gun shooting on a 5D MK 3 although I'm not sure how reliable the gauge is (can a dev confirm) or what the average temp should be.

My camera always runs warm running the ML Alpha but before any actually harm comes to you're camera it will automaticity shut off like always (I haven't used ML that much yet on my 5D but I'v never had it overheat and shut off).

Nothing I tried even recognised it as a RAW file. Sorry, you're probably going to have to cut you're losses on this one or maybe one of the devs will have some insight.

Have you tried some alternative programs? I'm preety sure raw2dng has a terminal based version that might be worth trying. Otherwise upload it and I'll have a go if you want.

It's the native unarchiver for mac, I used a different one I had and it worked fine. Download it from this link and you shouldn't have any more issues (it's only been unzipped then rezipped).

General Help Q&A / Re: Average Temp Of 5D MK3?

Never so I dont know what is the Canon shut off temp.  I usually only record short stuff.

Sweet, as long as you haven't had any issues I feel more comfortable now. I'm travelling around Bali and I don't want a camera that's going to be overheating on me all the time, hopefully it doesn't let me down.

General Help Q&A / Re: Average Temp Of 5D MK3?

Thank's for being so in-depth Renato! Yea I didn't know how accurate it was either but I didn't think having my camera running at it's maximum temperature continuously was very good for it.

Has you're camera overheated during long recording sessions? Like even run n gun stuff?

General Help Q&A / Average Temp Of 5D MK3?
November 11, 2013, 11:40:46 AM
What temperature should the 5D Mk 3 average at in normal working conditions (not to cold, not to hot). I'm running the latest nightly build for my 5D and I'm easily reaching temperatures of 60ºC.

Liveview is set to on and only has a crop guide overlay, I'm shooting RAW at 1920x1080 24fps and I'm using a genuine Canon battery.

Raw Video / Re: 60D RAW video - it's working !!!
November 11, 2013, 11:22:53 AM
Same here, getting really high temps upwards of 55ºC.

Running a 5D MK3 (obviously not a 60D but I figured I'd put it here)

Feature Requests / Re: Movie Restart on 5D3?
November 11, 2013, 07:41:16 AM
Would love to have this feature working as I film weddings and it's really helpful for Ceremony's, theres more that once where I have forgotten to press record again.

I don't mind testing it on my 5D MK3 if a dev comes out with a fix, as long as my camera won't explode of course ;)

Feature Requests / Re: audio options for 5D3

I have it running on my Mark 3 and it's not there, which sucks. I loved that feature to. Hopefully we have it back in a future release.

u got to upgrade your camera packs
in film convert

Huh? I'm running the latest version of FilmConvert, as far as I know a profile for Vision Color Log in Film Convert doesn't exist yet.
#16
Love this! Big fan of Vision, been shooting on you're profiles for awhile now and now that I'm doing RAW on my 5DMK3 this log profile is perfect! I color grade with FilmConvert however, so does anyone know the closest camera profile in FilmConvert I could use? Or well just have to wait for FilmConvert to bring out a profile?

EDIT: Flicked back a bit and read it needs a dedicated profile in Film Convert to be simulated correctly. Hopefully well see it in their soon! Vision Color should kindly ask if they could implement it ;)

Thank you for you're responses. I will admit I could of done some more research but the answers I did come across were vague, and I wasn't sure if those answers were even correct. I agree there should be more "warnings" about this, but I think the larger issue is that most tutorials from outside the forum on installing ML Raw include setting the boot-flag and don't actually warn you that it will add a delay.

I don't mind about the delay to much, it just bugs me I can no longer get my camera back to a "factory" state, which is entirely my fault none the less. Hopefully in the future the fantastic devs on here release a fix for this, until then I can handle a couple seconds on my startup and I look forward to shooting raw.

Installed ML with the raw modules on my 5D MK3 and am super keen on shooting RAW with it but I read on the forums that once it's been installed and if you have messed with the bootflag (which most tutorials show how to do) that you won't be able to totally get ML off you're camera by reinstalling or updating you're firmware. I reinstalled my firmware but I still have a 3 second delay when turning on my camera.

Is there any way to fix this?

Camera Emergency Department / Re: 5D3 Brick?

So this is the fault of the a malfunctioning faulty dummy battery? Not ML? Sorry about you're camera btw bro, hopefully you can claim on it.

General Help Q&A / Re: Did I almost brick my Camera?
November 07, 2013, 04:49:43 AM
Is this tutorial the right way to instal ML Raw? It worked for me but it strays from what the other tutorials out there are doing. Also now that I'v messed with the bootflag, is my startup time going to be slow forever? Or until the amazing devs on here finalise something?

Tutorial I followed http://www.cinema5d.com/news/?p=17898

General Help Q&A / Re: Did I almost brick my Camera?
November 06, 2013, 06:27:40 PM
Hey, I used a legit canon battery that was dead from a previous shoot, that was then charged for over two hours before I attempted to instal ML. I believe I was actually using the wrong files to install ML, as I reattempted to instal ML along with the Raw modules from another tutorial and it is was working fine.

However I uninstalled it because I was having some weird issues including some weird haze appearing on my liveview, attempting to shoot at higher resolutions would freeze my camera and I would only be able to use it after turning it off then back on and I attempted to run a stability test and it crashed 5 seconds into it.

Yes I'm using the 5D MK3

This is the tutorial I followed and the only one that worked for me http://www.cinema5d.com/news/?p=17898

General Help Q&A / Did I almost brick my Camera?
November 06, 2013, 12:52:40 PM
Followed this tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7pn5Q6wNMY although I'm on a mac so I used macboot to set the flag, when i selected update the camera when completely blank (no UI, screen etc). Pulled battery out along with SD Card and it asked to update, so I had to use canon firmware to be able to use the camera again.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong :/
