I found instructions about pulling (on camera preview image) JPGs out of the CR2 file with a hex editor.  I'll give it a try on my next day off.

I've tried formatting the CF card on the computer and in the camera and still have the problem of all images and video files being corrupt.  I guess it's a just a bad SanDisk card.

There aren't any converting options (I've seen) in the 5D menu.  I was hoping ML had something I didn't know about. :)

Thanks, I'll look-up extraction the jpgs from the CR2 file.

General Chat / Corrupt images help
April 21, 2015, 06:12:44 PM
I came home with images of my wife visiting her childhood (old-school dirt) home in a small town in China, and all the images are corrupt.

Can I:
Convert the raw to jpeg inside 5D MII (the images look okay when viewed on the 5D's screen)

Or can I rip out the imbedded jpg preview image?

I am speechless. You guys are gods among men.  Thank you, I'll be going to paypal to donate soon.  I hope other people do the same, it's the only way developers can measure support.

My question that I didn't see posted anywhere.

Is this a piggy-back like ML is now, or is it loading without original Canon firmware?

Also, will we see custom scripts that could gain more accesses, harnessing more power from the hardware?

Thanks again.

Looks like the Cokin PURE Harmonie fills all three of the needs I listed above.

Won't vignette on a Canon 24-105mm.
I can still use the original lens hood that came with the 24-105mm lens.

Also.....
I don't think it's possible, but if I can keep using the 77mm lens cap.

I'm thinking about getting a Genus, I have it in 67mm and could live with that quality. But I've read it vignettes on the wide-angle lenses and wont let me use the original hood.

If anyone knows a veritable ND filter that can do two (or all three) things listed please let me know.

Thanks  :)

Raw Video / 160MB/S vs 90MB/S CF card
February 28, 2015, 02:57:27 AM
I'm currently using a Sandisk 32GB 90Mb/S card on a 5D MII.

Could I see any benefits to using a 160MB/S card, like more FPS, audio, or stability using a 160MB/S ?

General Help Q&A / Speed-up auto focus?
October 01, 2014, 09:47:14 AM
Are there any tweaks I can use to speed-up the auto focus on my EOS-M?

Or can I load the Magic Focus modules, as I hate manually focusing with the electronic focus on the 22mm lens.

I was exporting some dual ISO images and ticked the Windows prompt box saying (always trust this program).  Now I can't export, I see the errors can't rename file to imagename.DNG and AgImportSessionAddOnePhotoToLibrary.

So, any help on how to reset the Windows prompt, or other options would be grand.  I've been searching Google, but I haven't seen a clear answer.

Thank you.

I enjoy my EOS-M, but I'm in the habit of just pushing the shutter button to turn on my 5D (and every other SLR I've ever used) when I want to take a picture.

Is there an option in ML to make the shutter button also function as a (on) button?

General Help Q&A / Saving battery life
June 26, 2013, 04:36:13 PM
After enabling raw video my battery life dramatically disappears even if I'm not recording. Would it be possible for the developers to disable raw (unload modules) when the camera is idle.  That way raw is turned off when using live view mode, and it's not killing the battery.  Yet, when I start recording ML turns the raw processing option back on (loads modules).  Raw would only be enabled when actually needed, when recording.

Even if ML needs to restart the camera every time we stop recording to unload the modules, it would be easer than doing it manually.

Asahi Super Takumar 55mm f2.
To get it this color, I only used a custom white balance.

Thank you for not posting HDR bum rubbish.  You alone have rejuvenated my faith in humanity; I can once again look another in the eyes without only feeling mercy.

Okay, my dramatic outburst is finished.  Truly  treat photo; not just the HDR, but it is also well framed.

Thank you for sharing.

Thanks SDX, theming would be cool.

Yet, I don't see why I can't just edit the menu file in ML, making a custom list of options in the existing the first tab.

I've never looked at any files in ML.  Can this be done, if so what files should I look at?

I'd like to see something like the show/hide items option let me pick favorites to be show in a favorites tab, make it first or last menu tab.

Even is you could let people make a favorites tab using a list/text file for ML to display my favorites.

If it was all in one tab, you could use it as a check list for each shot, no jumping from tab to tab changing settings.

Thanks for listening.  :)

Feature Requests / Re: Running two cameras in sync?
August 14, 2012, 08:34:47 PM
Could?......

ML would basically have a option (like virtual recording video) that pauses recording, not saving video frames, waiting for a trigger from the cameras mic/line in.  ML would do this so buffers on both cameras are ready, and external monitors have refreshed.

If this can be done, you could use a iPhone to send the start recording tone/timecode sound to each camera (one out the left iChannel and another out the right iChannel).  Maybe even have ML stop recording when another tone is sent, and video files on each camera would have the same start and stop, with the exact same numbers of frames.

Also the iPhone app would keep records of start and stop times, record room audio (for reference only) and let you render a wav/mp3 file of the timecode/trigger for syncing if needed.
