Hello guys.
I need to connect my XLR mic to Canon 600D.
I'd prefer to make the XLR to jack 3.5 myself than buying it, because I've got everything I need at home.
The question is how do I connect the wires? Do I make it balanced (XLR ground - sleeve, hot - tip and cold - ring) or unbalanced mono, meaning I sort out ground and cold to sleeve and connect hot to tip and ring? I don't actually have the 600D atm, but I need this to be ready when I pick it up next week, overwise I'd just experiment with it to see how it works. Also from my understanding, the 600D doesn't have as good audio options as for example 550D because of the new chip right? I saw the 550D version can switch through various modes, but it seems 600D can't.

Thanks for any help, been using ML on my 500D since the very early builds mainly for photo stuff, but now I'm kind of jumping to video with some better equipment.  :)

Thank you Alex, nice to see 500D getting some extra support  :)
