Hi,

I'd like to know if magic lantern can shoot, while bracketing at the same time, at high FPS.
I mean, native bracketing can work at camera's max fps speed. But, at least on my nikon (yes I'm planing to change for canon, hence my ML question), If I shoot 3 bracket, then it stops even if I still press the shutter.
What I would like is that pressing the shutter will just shoot as high fps possible several bracketing sequences till I release the shutter. Can ML do this ?

Also, can ML customize the camera not in live view mode (my above example three the OVF).

And finally, I saw that ML can be scripted. Is that fast ? If so, could I ask ML to fire 5 3 exposure bracketing (15 frames) at big fps, but shooting the 5 normal farm, then the 5 underexpose ones, then the 5 overexposed ones, or maybe 10 exposed ones, IF max exposure time is above the 1/focal rule.

All of this to do handled HDR / Fusion frame capture as fast as possible (the high fps would allow to get at least one image sharp for exposure below the 1/focla rule exposure time).

Thanks.

Hi,

Some point and shots offer a bokeh mode, were the camera take a picture of the focused subject, and one focused much before (in fact completely out of focus) and then stack them to emulate a fast dslr lens wide open.

It would be great if we could have that mode : so ML would take a first picture in burst mode of the focussed subject, then a second one as fast as possible out of focus.

We could do even better : subject view at f8, so all the face in focus, and then second view shot at 2.8. Maybe 3 would be needed to help better transitions focused 2.8/focused f8, out of focus 2.8. and maybe we would need different shots with different blurriness to better adjust the amount wished.

This could be especially helpful shooting "family reunion photo" : you'd have the group of people in focus at maybe f/11 and you'd have a nice blurred bokehish background. and impossible shoot to do otherwise.

Of course stacking would be done in post

1 or 2 fps could be ok.
1/60 shutter speed minimum

With Helicon remote, on my nikon it's 10s/frame. If I could do 10 frame in 10 seconds it would be much nicer.

If only it could go as fast as max frame per second it would be awesome. In the future I imagine you'll be able take a group of 3 people head, at 2.8 to preserve background bokeh and the camera would automatically do 6 shots, focusing each eye (thanks to facial recognition) in 1 second or less.

Or when you'd do handheld landscape the camera could focus stack everything leveraging depth of field and HDR with 12 view in 1 seconds

If only camera manufacturer were more proficient computer engineers. It's so frustrating

I hope sony will shake things up in 2014, ditching mirror and then obturator would permit amazing things. Let's pray that manufacturers will create true SDK. With an app store (sony started their app store, but only for them).

Also samsung published their SDK, did someone looked at it ?

Hi,

Currently I use helicon remote to do focus stacking capture, but it's slow because it takes few seconds to do each shot. I'm quiet disappointed, because I wished to have some frame peers seconds speed and not seconds par frame speed. Basically I'd like to do focus stacking or HDR capture in burst mode or close to, to be able to make it handheld

So, how speedy are those feature with magic lantern ?

Thanks

P.S : I can't myself yet because I'm a nikon d600 user, who considers a switch to canon due to ML

Hi,

I'm wondering if you can asign script to physical buttons, so using optical viewfinder only on the field, pressing those asigned button will perform the script.

For instance I'd like to take 6 pictures in burst mode each time I press the shutter release. So I'm planning on writing a script called six shots, that when enabled would transform my shutter release in a 6 frame firing machine (yes because only relying on pressing the shutter doesn't exactly gives you 6 frames).

Another script set-up to another button, will set my exposure to ETTR.

But I'd like to use them with my ovf, so not in live view mode. Is that possible ? Maye the ETTR one not because it might need access to liveview to get exposure ?

Thanks.
I'm a total ML newbie, I don't even own a canon camera but I'm envious D6OO user that plans a switch to canon for ML reasons
