i seem not to be very successful finding any info anywhere for 3 things:

1)-5dmark3  (any version) to shoot in H.264 version , but where one can change the H.264 bitrates in ML
i assume the stable build one, from last year oct 2012 ,which still seems to have this feature is only compatible for 5dmark2 and not the mark3.   
i can only find ..."alpha ".... versions for 5dmark3 and none of them  seem to have H.264 bitrate change options.

or can i run last years mark2 version on a mark3 in order to access the better H.264 bitrates options?

2)-a few guys have tried to fix a few external monitor crop frame bar issues, but when i download from this link here, which i only found last week...
i seem to have most recent builts  , ... where this fix should have been included , but it is not actually fixed at all in those most recent daily changed and updated versions .....

3) Are there many variations of ML for 5dmark3 now ?

corrupt frames occured (not dropped ones) when shooting Raw Video with august 21 version. am inside green parameters with a lexar 1000x card and writing speeds and frame size, and it shouldnt do this.

where would i show these corrupt frames or where would i be able to show any info ?

forgive my ignorance, to play with this, i would need to replace the olde .rec file with yours? 

if yes, let me play with it, and see how it looks on my 7,7 inch OLED smalHD.....

now am i understanding this correctly that your goal is to remove the cropmark  bars?

if yes,... then its not a solution for me, for i am hoping to have cropmark bars placed correctly and not removed... on the external monitor...

Hi Alex, please , YES;)... a few custom preset config buttons or a similar option to activate such config presets .... , where all these many settings can be memorized and saved for a specific setup  on a  lens or shoot setup/ mode etc etc , so that those 15-20 settings turn on with just a push  of may be a button (..or two) , is a real serious feature . on my sets when everyone needs my attention all the time, and when you stare at the ML menus making changes ,  hoping you are not doing any one of those wrong , it's crazy dangerous sometimes , since people continuously come and talk to you the photographer.
imagine all the wedding photographers (massive market ) out there who would miss a moment they could never redo again.
i would have these presets for my own shoots, see below , with  aspect ratio , cropbars/cropmarks , heighth to width setting, global draw, histogram , zebra,focus peak, etc etc etc:

-max res with raw in 1:2.67  24f/s
-max res with raw in 1:2.67  50f/s
-max res with raw in crop mode 24f/s
-Max res in 264 ( by the way is the bitrate change option for 264 not existing  in the august 21 version?)
-Max res in 264 50f/s

i switch between these setting often, and its such a waste of time to always do these changes with so many steps.

may be another cool feature could be to be able to save the settings and pass them on to others as well in a way.
you could then easily make a max res setting for a new alpha version to download for all of us non programmers.

with my external monitor its also hard to remember which setting make what work on it, since its not at all the same feed as the internal lcd gets.
there would be for sure  a setting i would save for the still very few little things that do work with my smallHD monitor ...

i would be extremely curious to see this again, but in a version where you equalize the saturation in the 264 footage to the one in raw. 264 is clearly less saturated, and its not fair to judge this way yet,... might be worth the effort..

i once saw in a video that the 264 ini settings can be altered and 264 compression could be changed , bitrate etc etc,..., does anyone know in which version this was the case?
and if i were to use an older version if it would work after i played around with a version of this month for example. i assume it would, but would like to see if anyone had a bad experience going to an older version.

i got a few crash logs, where do i send them?

with the latest built of today, what and where could i find the changes or improvements or fixes infos of todays built of august 21 ?
sorry for asking, am new to this here... and i haven't found any place one can look up what was done in a newer version ..

not sure if this is an option here for you:


a single optical fiber can carry much more data than electrical cables such as standard category 5 Ethernet cabling, which typically runs at 100 Mbit/s or 1 Gbit/s speeds.
Fiber optic can transfer data at 100 Mbps, 1 Gbps, 10 Gbps, and 40 Gbps

i certainly would pay 100$  to anyone who can make bars for me, when using my new AC7 OLED smallHD attached to to my mark3 through my HDMI port, so that the monitor will be able to display these crop bars  in these ways here :

1)   in all modes, Raw recording or non-Raw recording,
2)   in any size      (  16:9  1:2,3  1:2,67   1:3  ) & customizable to any ratio
3)   with customizable transparency of bars
4)   same for the 5x zoom recording feature when in magnifying mode , and raw video or non raw recording .

5)   customizable quick ON/OFF button of preset bars , so there is a quickmode to turn off and on  ...

i know this is not much money and some might laugh,... but there are so many who are now using monitors this seems to be sensible to offer from someone who has no money at all..

alex1 can may be help make sure the right guy get this ?

PS: only if all functions are delivered and functional ....

i just got the AC7 OLED smallHD and having major issues , overlay is showing incorrectly and often other things happen, which i do not yet know the words/vocabulary for, so i made a site with annotations on the bottom right ....
