Now it works.
Things done (from my memory): (DualIso was enabled)
- switched Canon Iso from 100 to 200
- switched to DUAL Prefix
- enabled ETTR - Switched from AutoSnap to SET
- switched LV - shot ETTR and realized the Image Scanlines in PLAY
- switched ETTR OFF
- DUAL ISO shot still works
- CR2 decoded fine

THX for your support (even if its just "Here it works", that was enough  for me)

As I wrote before I restarted, the modules loaded OK.
I use the standard settings in Dual Iso Menu (100/800).
I take the pic in Av or M, with or without LV, but the resulting CR2 doesnt have scanlines and cr22hdr also doesn't recognize it as an DualIso file.

I used ETTR since May, even with a timelapse, thats not the problem.

The problem is with the latestbuild:
I am able to enable the modules, they are loaded after restart and I see ETTR and Dual Iso in Menu.

I enable Dual-Iso, set to 100/800, take the raw but the CR2 is NOT Dual Iso.

I also tried the ML_550D_Dual_ISO_Aug_25_2013_Update.zip build posted in that forum after cleaning ML folder completely (not to mix modules) but it also doesn't work.
Does anyone with a 550D shot a DualIso successfully ? I can't.

Hi !

First try with dual iso today.

Canon 550D, today's ML build, dual_iso-Module enabled.
Internal ISO:100
Dual ISO 100/800 or 100/1600 enabled

Dropping the CR2 files on the EXE (Windows, 20.09.13) it says:
D:\Software\Canon\cr22hd>cr2hdr.exe IMG_3535.CR2

Doesn't look like interlaced ISO


I don't see any interlaced lines at 100% for reference.
Any ideas why no dual ISO files are created ?

I'd love to try this on my 550D !

My main issue with SilentDNG + Intervalometer is
-  the lack of Display off.
   In 3sec intervals  it just doesn't go off (too short ? )so battery dies quickly
- XMP files arent written, even if ETTR is measured right, so there will be no advantage over FPS override/skip
  If XMP creation could be enabled also for SilentDNG I would prefer that option cause its an awesome feature.

Compiled and shot 4 CR2 with AutoETTR

Seems OK for me in LR4, Exp value correct applied, Process is also 2012.

If someone else confirms --> SOLVED :)

Folder 2010 --> LRTimelapse (in LR3 Mode) --> Inititialize --> Save XMP

Main Difference:

The Tags Version and ProcessVersion -> Guees these define how LR processes the XMP (2010 or 2012)
The Tags in the 2012 XMP File have 2012 added to their Tags (see Exposure)

So I guess a correct 2010/2012 XMP Version Template should have:
a correct header
a correct Version and ProcessVersion Tag
a correct Exposure/Exposure2012 Tag
correct foot

From what I've learned the DNG's are written from LV buffer so it has to stay on, it will turn off for JPG/CR2.

I followed Renatos and A1ex' advice for flicker free timelapse using ETTR.
The problem is, that these tutorials are for CR2 timelapse.

For a DNG timelapse, following these rules, we would need:

- XMP, UFRAW files also written for silent DNG's.
   I see that ETTR kicks in during timelapse, I hear the beep and see exposure changes and the DNG's are affected, thats OK !
   Maybe these exp. correction files could be written also for DNG's in future ?

- Some kind of Display dimming.
  As I told, LV mode is needed. But some dimming of the Display to about 5% during the timelapse would save battery.
  ML offers Display settings, but just Normal, High, very High. Could a very Low setting be possible ?

Thank you, I'll try in Movie Mode again.
Maybe ETTR could also be the reason cause it kicks in by time (I hear the beep) and adjusts shutter accordingly. (Processing power?)
Of course no XMP's are written (SIlentPic Mode) but it can be treated holy grail like in post.
So I'll try to shut off ETTR also.

Nice timelapse ! I tried one today on my 550D with same settings (Silent DNG / 1pic every 3sec) and did 600 pics.
But I had to throw away about 5% (32pics) cause of magenta distortion in irregular sequwnce.

Hi !

I managed to get a very nice timelapse using
SilentPic = ON
Intervalometer = 1 pic every 3s / end after 500
after grading the DNG's

However the battery drained a lot, almost to zero,  I think cause the display was on for settings + actual timelapse
From Manual --> I tried the PowerSave  settings to turn LV off with DISP and with Sensor, but it stayed on all the time

Q: What settings to take to turn LV off during the timelapse (silent DNG) for battery saving (maybe wake up inbetween to check) ?
