Shot this a few years back with various pickups since then.  Mostly H264 with ML assistance but during the first few minutes there's a fantasy bit all shot with 5diii RAW.

It's old work with new editing, but check it out!

General Help Q&A / Canon Remote for Follow Focus
January 06, 2015, 10:25:38 PM
Hi all, quick question about ML follow focus.  I have an off brand camera remote, Yongnuo or something, and it seems the arrows on it can't be used to control the follow focus, is that because ML doesn't support it or because I'm on an off brand remote?

(5dmkiii 1.2.3, whichever the latest nightly build is, if that's important)

Seems there hasn't been a straight answer to this actually, if I'm shooting MLRAW onto a CF card and using a Ninja Blade as a monitor can I record the 10bit Prores that the Ninja offers without killing the RAW capabilities?  Because if so that'd be a great backup while ML1.23 is still as bleeding edge as it is

I just made the jump to 1.2.3 so I apologize if this has already been noted, but it seems that when I switch into photo mode from video and change the manual autofocus switch on the lens from off to on (or on to off,) the camera shuts down.  I was able to replicate it once but not a second time... any ideas?

This didn't look to me like it was a ML RAW problem so much as camera settings... With the proper way to handle a camera a t2i shooting in .H264 could save the footage you've showcased here.  It's easy to assume that with the added dynamic range of RAW if you shoot something that isn't properly exposed you'll be able to save it in post, but (although Canon's dynamic ranges have never been the best) if you shoot at a middle ground between dynamic extremes in a scene, especially in RAW, generally you can salvage everything that nature can throw at you.

That said, forested environments are a total bitch to shoot in, so it's possible that the 60D wasn't up to par, but the conditions in the video looked fairly salvageable

I'm not sure if this has been addressed, apologize in advance if it has.  It seems when shooting RAW video on the 6d (1600x68 I think) the color temperature and sometimes exposure seemingly either adjust automatically or darken/brighten.  The camera is entirely set to manual, expo adjust is off, are there any setting in the ML firmware that cause that?

Also somewhat unrelated but I've been digging into Raw2dng and was wondering if there's a version out that I haven't found that pulls out the .dng's from RAW files but doesn't take the time to compress it to ProRes4444.  Thanks!
