Hi guys,

I want the use focus peaking and wonder what I have to enable? I have enabled focus peaking, but can not see anything on my live view display.

If you want to see the dots appear around the areas that are in focus, you will need to press the INFO button until you are getting the ML display. Otherwise, focus peaking will not appear. It took me a while to figure this out.

@Audionut, that was indeed the problem. Global Draw was set to off in the record menu. All is working now. Thank you!

Thanks. I have Global Draw enabled for all modes. I can see everything properly in the display before I record but as soon as I do, the display overlay disappears. Not sure why.

I'm using the 3-17-14 build that supports firmware 1.2.3 on the Canon 5D Mark III. Everything works great except the crop marks. If I choose cinemascope or some other aspect ratio, the mask disappears when I am recording RAW video making it difficult to figure out framing. Maybe I'm missing something or haven't enabled something in the menu but I can't seem to figure out how to do it.

Other than that, I'm thrilled to be running ML with the latest camera firmware.

I have been on the fence about using ML on my 5D Mark III because I didn't want to downgrade the 1.2.3 firmware. Now that there is a version out that works on this firmware, I installed it. I wanted to try out the dual ISO so I took a shot with some deep shadows to see how it would do. The results are pretty astounding. I'm actually surprised that the camera at the default setting is so noisy at ISO100 (I exposed for the very bright window purposely so I would have to crank up the shadows in post). Enabling Dual ISO (100-1600) dramatically reduced the grain and increased the detail. I used cr2hdr on my Windows 7 laptop with no issues at all. Here is a 100% crop of with and without...

If this is not appropriate for this forum, I apologize and feel free to remove it. I'm selling a brand new VAF-5D2b Moire / Aliasing Filter. If anyone is interested, PM me.

Resolution 1880 x 800.

I used Raw2dng, and later Lightroom to edit the dng files (in some cases) and convert them into jpgs, I tried to use Davinci Resolve but couldn't import the files. How can you do it?

You can see some problems (01:53 in crop mode and 03:12 ).

SORRY IT IS VERY LONG

I don't mean to go on a rant here or disrespect anyone's work but I'm not sure what is the point of posting video that does not represent the strengths of shooting in RAW. A lot of footage I have seen, and this is no exception, shows high contrast scenes that have a large amount of over- and underexposure. These kind of examples look no different than if I shot video with my 5D2 without Magic Lantern. So I would ask anyone considering posting video to do so with the intent of demonstrating why it's worth shooting RAW. Show some scenes that cannot be captured using h.264. How about some detail in the shadows while maintaining cloud structure on an overcast day. Let's get a sense of what 13 stops of latitude looks like.

Again I'm not trying to offend anyone or be negative in any way, just encouraging everyone to show what's unique about RAW. I will be posting some things soon myself once I get the time to shoot.

I had that choppy issue recently while editing my raw footage in Adobe Premier. Upon closer inspection, I realized the footage had not been interpreted properly. It was 29.97 instead of 23.976. As soon as I fixed this, the footage was smooth.
