Yeah mainly for the LiveView overlay features such as the RGB  overlay and the exposure override capabilities. Usually use it for helping with recording sound and monitoring it's levels but obviously in this I didn't have to use any sound from the shoot.

When you say technical details do you mean the equipment I used or set up/settings

One thing I've struggled the most with is colour correction and colour grading because I'm colour blind but u decided to experiment with my new short and see how it turns out. Opinions?

Thanks. I'm glad you liked it. I originally wanted it to be narrated but couldn't find the right voice for it but after making it I feel the compromise worked better.

Basically I have only recently got into filming and I have some questions based on my video.

1. Though I shot in 25 and 50 fps and followed the 180 degree rule of thumb the footage still seems a bit choppy and I do not know if its just me. It says in the video properties it is shot in 25/50fps so idk. But if you agree and it doesn't seem right any tips on correcting it.

2. Being colour blind you can imagine colour correction is a nightmare. Though you have the vectorscope or the YC waveform etc but I have been told it is not entirely reliable to rely on them solely. So if someone could tell me if the footage seems corrected properly and if not what needs to be.

3. And this probably the biggest noob move mainly down o funds but I don't have a great deal of money to invest in rigs and tripods etc so I used a lot of make shift things and a cheap shoulder rig I found on ebay. But no matter my best effort the videos still isn't properly stabilised. I have tried the warp stabilizer on the Premiere Pro but it only replaces one problem with another. Any advice on how I can get around this without using warp stabilizer.

Anyone that can help it'll be much appreciated

Plus I do not get why the youtube shortcode is not working for me.

General Chat / Music video project

First just a quick note: I know this section is for showcasing but I can not see where else to post this but please if you know where it should be posted then move the post or if you feel it is inappropriate then I am happy for you to delete it.  thanks.

I am currently working making a music video for my band but finding that I am coming very close to end of my budget and only half the video completed and only 3 weeks remain before I really should start post. I was wondering if anyone has about 2/3 minutes worth of stock footage with a summary vibe of people doing summer activities. For a sort of idea of what I am going for owl city's good times music video would be the sort of idea I am going for. I am willing to pay for it, though not a nominal amount hopefully enough.

Thanks.

WTF!!...

this looks so unreal

i mean, come on.. its fantastic, but it looks like a davinci painting :)

is photography your profession?

great!!!

Yea I do but mainly weddings and occasionally boudoir. I know it has a unrealistic feel but that was intentional. I hyped up the sharpness on purpose to create something different. It has quite alot of noise to it as well but for me that adds to the charm.

Thanks for the constructive feedback was really what I was looking for. Yea over the past few weeks I have been looking at tutorials. I have learnt alot about the 180 degree rule and the only thing that seems to be effecting me is geting the right exposure. With photgraphy you can tweak quite a few area and adjust shutter speed or the apature but that all goes out the window if you want a wide depth or shallow depth of feild and as the 180 degree rule comes in play in video you cant really adjust the shutter speed. Been lookin into nd filters but a friend suggested that i get a decent one as a cheap one will render your lens useless. Like shooting through a standard window.

Yea I know it is very amateurish but any tips on improving would be much appreciated.

I, professionally speaking am a photographer and have been for quite a number of years. So I thought its only logical to take the next step into the world of videography. Recently I have gone into setting up my own promotions company and did a simple promo using my Canon 60D. I know the video is vague, doesn't explain alot and it is relatively amateurish but in terms of the footage feedback would be appreciated. Thanks =]
