I think people interested in porting TL to ML should donate to 1% and when enough money are raised so that this project is properly funded, 1% will spend the required time to do the coding. You can not expect the man to spend many, many hours of he's free time just so that we all be happy, when he is not getting payed. That's how this problem should be presented and understood.

1% should have a link for donations to this project alone, and when enough money are raised so that he's effort, time and energy spent are properly funded, then it will be done.  Raising a few thousands dollars for porting TL is not such a big challenge for this community.

So then you would have 1 dev that's getting paid for working on ML, and the other dev's that are working for free doing the same job.

that wont work.

You used the *same* cable and hub on both cameras? Doh, I also don't think it's ml but a hardware failure - you could try to isolate if the hub or cable is the problem by frying anther couple of cameras :-p ... but my money would be on the hub being broken if you don't see any physical damage or dirt on/in the cable after close inspection and it has worked before.

lolll, yea i cant afford a few other cameras loll

yea no physical damage whatsoever
thing was barely used / tested
then one morning, nothing....

anyway im going to create a new thread in the hardware section, dont want to hijack this one!

cheers all

Guys my usb port is also dead :(
I tried the above but no success

The pc doesnt detect the camera, but the camera does detect that a usb cable is connected to it (wifi option becomes greyed out and becomes available as soon as the cable is unplugged).
Tried several cables, usb ports etc.

Same cable works fine on 60d

Any ideas?

Update: well, within 2 weeks, both the usb on the 6d and 60d are now dead.
I don't believe its caused by ML now since the 60d has been running 2.3 for over a year with no issues whatsoever

its either DSLR controller or the cables.

i've opened a bug report thread in the hope of a solution:

@a1ex if you think it will not work no problem, but other people are free to do tests if they want, so stop bothering us and go work in your raw tasks. you are the main developer but you made this thing open source so please respect it's nature. we have the module enabled, we do not need you and your "impossible words"anymore, let us try our success or our fail alone, you are fired of dual iso h264 development, SHUT YOUR MOUTH AND GO AWAY, NOW!

LOL???

where did that come from hahaha!

woop woop just got 2 new sandisk extreme plus (80mb read/ 60mb write)

getting 40.5mb  WITH GD on and Canon preview = continuous at 1600x640 (2.50:1)
40.7mb without GD and hacked preview = 1140 frames at 1664x666, not worth the minimal gain with hacked preview

MUCH better results than my lexar pro 600x which i've paid more than double the price of the sandisk extreme plus

Check drivers in the OS, especially if you have multiple cameras.

yea i highly doubt its a driver issue since its the same thing with dslr controller: when i hook the tablet up to the camera it is no longer detected by the tablet (confirmed by running usb host diagnostic utility), but on the camera the wifi section does before unavailable, until the cable is unhooked from the camera then it becomes available again.

tried to connect the 6d to 2 computers which never had the 6d / eos utilities installed on it, and nothing happens, no device nothing.
when using the same cable on the 60d and connecting to those same 2 computers, camera is detected and the default canon drivers are automatically installed.

not sure if problem was caused by ML or not, or if DSLR controller somehow fried the USB board on the 6d...

If its not detecting via USB then probably turn off headphone monitor. Thats all I can think of blocking it.

having moved from a 60d to a 6d, i would personally recommend to go 70d
i can never go back to 60d lol, unless shooting in broad day light

on the 70d you'd get a brand new dual pixel sensor, digic 5+ processor (as opposed to digic 4), 7 fps photo burst mode, better high ISO, video auto-focus, wifi (pretty useful for having clients view and rate pictures on a tablet after a shoot) etc

i would say goo for 70d, 60d raw you're not getting much resolution anyways (less than hd), no matter what sd card you buy.
70d specs say that its compatible with uhs-i cards, so im assuming its probably the same sd controller as the 6d, not the slower one of the 60d/rebel series, which would theoretically mean faster write speed for raw.

and according to canon website, yes 70d is capable of hdmi playback/monitoring like on the 60d:
Video Out Terminal
HDMI Type C (Switches automatically to suit the resolution)

Video output: 1080/60i, 1080/50i, 480/60p, 576/50p

*Switches automatically to 1, 2, 3, or 4 to suit the TV

im in the same boat so +1 for this feature!

also keep my exposure increments at 1/3 and 1/160 shutter speed sucks lol

You're doing well getting 34mb/s I thought the sd card controller on the 600d would only go up to 21mb/s.

ah sorry, forgot to mention, this is on a 6D, sd controller is rated at 50mb. some users are reporting constant write speeds of 39-40mb/s on that camera

Raw Video / Tips to increase write speed
October 22, 2013, 01:17:07 AM
hey folks,

is there any tips on improving write speed to sd card?
currently my lexar pro 600x (rated at 45mb write speed) can only write at around  34.0mb/s

i've tried
global draw off
hacked no preview
memory hack on
extra hacks on

raw picture quality only
turning on camera in photo mode > load Raw Module only > Dont click me > switch to video mode

but i still get a max write speed of about 34mb/s
i guess its the card but is there anything else i can try?
(if any of my steps doesn't make sense or are outdated / no longer needed let me know lol)

and as far as the best bang for buck sd card for raw, so far the pick is Sandisk Extreme 45/45?

cheers guys

hey team,

I'm currently running  ML using the updated version from the 1st post of the install guide from noisy boy (24/08/13).
one thing thats currently bothering me and can't figure out is when I'm in live view and press the Q button and then press any arrow keys i get some codes that pop up on the screen eg:

c0f079dc:
= 0
= 0 0
= 0 0 0 0

and pressing different arrow keys seem to give me different values.
how to i disable this and regain control of my Q button? :)

Im pretty sure its something simple that needs to be disabled but i cant figure what.

thanks guys
