Nice and well done

Canon 5D Mark3 (ML RAW)
Canon EF 70-200 mm f/4L IS USM
Using just two LED lights - Aputure HR-672S
Davinci Resolve + Premiere Pro CC

Shot in 1080x816 at 60fps, I could do 15 sec takes using Transcend 1000x CF cards, one crazy card though were able to give me 35 sec (I got six of them)
Almost all of my videos on this accounts were shot using 5D Mark3 (ML RAW):

Totally agree with sergiocamara93
Also, from my experience I would suggest to keep the copy of all card contents on another hard drive.

inspiring stuff!
well done.

i added a workaround for that black level issue. (next nightly)
i am not sure why the raw backend has trouble in detecting the correct black level so often now.
did you all use zoomed modes?

a) mlv_rec will by default fix that value to 2048. depending on your camera this may be wrong.
iirc alex told me that there may be some models which have 4096. (maybe i mixed smth up)
for this reason there is a menu option to disable that black-fix if you need it.

b) mlv_dump has an option --black-fix to override black level to 2048. for existing footage just run
'./mlv_dump in.mlv --black-fix -o out.mlv' and your footage in out.mlv will have black level set to 2048.
(for windows users: here is a version with the fix)

the changes will take effect with the next nightly.

I'm sorry g3gg0, how can I prevent this dark-green-clip issue happening when using RAW_REC module? I've tried a few latest builds they all had this issue (with ~70% chance in cropped mode)
I noticed a "Black Level" option in the "image finetuning" menu, it can be set to -100..100, is this a cure? If so which value should I use?
Thanks.

I've updated to nightly.2014mar22.5D3113 and noticed that the camera disables the "debug info" option on each restart. Am I missing something? Will appreciate any help.

Hi there,
do you guys experience slow transfer rates when using nexto 2730 without external charger/battery?

When I have charger plugged in, I can copy full Transcend 64GB card to nexto 2730 in ~13 min. But if I start to copy without external charger then it copies well only about 14Gb (with ~80Mb/s) and then slows down completely, to about 1Mb/s  :o
Also if I plug the charger while transferring, the speed increases to ~10Mb/s  (but not ~80Mb/s)

So there is simply no way for me to transfer a 64GB card normally without a charger :(

May be it's because of my 1Tb WD drive, may be internal battery can't handle this HDD without additional power source, I don't know :-\

Unfortunatelly 2730 doesn't have USB3.0 but firewire and USB 2.0. Transferring via usb2.0 is about 35MB/s so 500GB would be about 4 hours.
I don't like the CF>>>2730 USB 2.0 speed, but copying from 2730 to PC can be done faster - just put the hdd out and insert it into the 2.5 hdd rack (google:)

Quotewe have exported the dng sequence in 3840x 2160 jpeg files
I can export my dng sequence in 8k ;)

I've put CF and SD cards in my 5d3 and installed today's build - everything is working fine but I can't see the file spanning switch in the menus, my SD card seems not to be in use.
Any hint? Thanks.

upd: oops) I'm actually using raw_rec module) Am I right to think that mlv module isn't ready yet?

General Help Q&A / Re: Formatting cards

I'm sorry to bother you guys but what if I don't have the "Keep ML [q]" words on the screen? - it's just usual 5d3 formatting  :-\ [yes I have ml installed]

isn't 60/50 fps footage too f*cked up to be useful? Aliasing is killing the footage when you un-squeeze it.
Aliasing isn't thAt bad at 1080p, but I would really love my 5d3 to to shoot 60p without any squeeze

Raw Video / Re: 60FPS slow motion

I can't shoot 60p in crop mode too (5d3), It switches to 30p. May be there is a reason for this limitation, may be not...
Yes the 60p image is squeezed, you should stretch the height to 161% in post.

I'll upload a sample soon. The quality is better than the standard h264 1080/24p .. and with a bit of post sharpening, cuts in well with the 1080/24p Raw.
Thanks. I'm really interested in this.

I'm jumping on the bandwagon a little late, but I gave it a go here is my test

Now this is nice! Thank you.
Getting 5d3 now!

Finally a 50p example, though it tells almost nothing about the quality.

What about one with 64Gb??? I'm going to buy one tomorrow in the local store, hoping that it works like 32Gb do, unless someone reports a bad speed results...
Thanks.

Good to know. Thanks.

Ok, I have posted some frame grabs on first post here: http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=5472.msg36346#msg36346

There is a fair amount of quality loss due to the squashed image, but  it is definitely better that canons.

I don't know if someday we will have 60fps NON SQUASHED image, I am not a DEV.
Thanks for that.
Sure the image is better than the canons but I'm a little concerned about the "stair stepping" at the upper-right part of your example. This had probably caused by "squashing". But may be that's not such a big deal, will see...

I'm too desperately waiting for the 60p RAW sample. Everyone seems to be obsessed trying to reach the maximum resolution with 24p forgetting the beauty of slow-motion   :-\
#24
Sorry to bother you guys but did anyone tested 60p yet? I didn't found a sample on the web.
It seems to me that 720p 60p RAW can be nicely scaled up into 1080p 60p. The only doubt for me is the moire/aliasing behavior at 720p.
Any information would be greatly appreciated!

This is really beautiful!
Is it true that 5dmk3 doesn't have that moire/aliasing issues 5dmk2 has?

Anyone thinking of selling 5dmk2 to buy 5dmk3???
