MLVApp also stretches cDNG (by metadata). Probably your used NLE/viewer/... is not able to read cDNG metadata completely.

Just installed the crop mood ver 20230809 on Rebel SL1 with firmware updated version 1.01. Aamazing work. Two thumbs up.
I can do continuously recording (green) in 5.2k 1x3 mode, ar 2.67, 10 bit, 14 bit lossless, 24p, sd card overclocking 240 mhz, small hack more, global draw off on, sandisk extreme pro 256 gb. I tested at iso 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600. At ISO 800 and 1600, the recording time is about 30 seconds when global draw off is off, continuous when global draw off on. At ISO 100-400, it is truly continuous even when global draw off is off.
Two issues:
1. when stop the recording, there is error message "audio cannot stop recording".
2. when play back, the screen is black, and I have to take battery off and restart the camera, then I can play back the latest clip, but no other function buttons showing up.

I overlooked one thing: You seem to be using the 650D and 100D exclusively, So you won't be able to use Danne's custom build for now.
Therefore, You'll have to use bilal's original build.
You can follow the instructions here to enable all the modules: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0M7n2cAHMM
Sorry about that!

Nowhere did I (Or anyone else) say that this method will make the card work. This method avoids the problems related to card corruption. And based on a whole summer's worth of almost daily shoots, it works.
But In your case, it could be that your card is from a different batch. (See my previous post about the 128GB Extreme Pro)
So the first thing you should do is to try the method yourself.
Use Danne's version of crop mood https://bitbucket.org/Dannephoto/magiclantern_hg_02/downloads/ you won't have to scratch your head or watch the video to make it work.
You copy the files and it's ready to shoot.
(You may have to enable the bench.mo module manually though)
The whole process should take you less than 10 minutes.
I added : 5. Reboot the camera at least twice before the first use.
Some settings are quite persistent on the Eos M (So maybe it's the same thing for the 650D). And for some reason, the new settings don't always get transferred to the cam's non-volatile memory on the first try. (Maybe someone who knows why that is could chime in??)
Also, after the low-level format, you'll see the light flashing for a few seconds. You should wait for it to stop flashing before going further.

There's only one way to find out!
But maybe you could post your card's CID, along with those who reported the same issue, so we can see if those cards are like mine. Prior to the latest Overclock module, I had two Extreme Pro 128's, and only one of those worked.
There is something else I don't have a way to test, but maybe some cards draw more current than others? I use a Dummy Battery and power Bank which outputs 2A @ 9V, 22.5W.
Have you tried with the original Canon battery with a full charge?

Once you copied the ML files to the card, You put it in the camera and do a firmware update (It won't do a firmware update, but it will make the card boot to ML)
You follow the instructions and restart when asked.

People usually say a lot of shit on the Internet
Free & Studio version of Resolve relies over the same GPU engine, Studio just got more available advanced features.
As explained by @masc, an 8-bits engine will imply very visible banding issues.
Don't get how MLVApp would have "better color" than Resolve in the end, a 14-bits integer bit depth footage fit perfectly in 32-bits float without any loss, and we're talking here about one of the most renowned color-grading software with bullet-proof color science (DaVinci Wide Gamut & ACES colorspaces etc.), so eventually the only weak point may be the RAW (DNG) debayering algorithm (personally prefer the one used by Adobe in CameraRaw) but the differences are quite indistinguishable...

@mlrocks DaVinci Resolve engine (both free & studio version) works internally using 32bits float (single precision GPU float value).

MLVApp is 16bit, DualISO 20bit.

Don't get me wrong, I love my 5D3+ML, but I bet 12-bit Raw with R5 / R5C outplays 14-bit ML Raw with 5D3 by far.
Guess we are talking about cost / benefits here

This makes me think that you never tried to recover some detail from shadows on 5D3 crappy sensor

I was thinking about buying a new camera and I am baffled that actually magic lantern still keeps up with other modern cameras. I would basically wait until the Canon EOS R5C Mark II. With the cameras currently selling, I really am much more happy with the Canon EOS 5D3.
What do you think... will you be interested in a Canon EOS R5C Mark II?
I have been searching for a new beautiful 135mm lens. I have to admit the new lenses for Sony E-mount look somehow better?
Other expensive examples:
Viltrox 16mm F1.8 FE
Canon RF 24-105mm F2.8 L IS USM Z
Canon RF 28-70mm F2 L USM
Sony SEL FE 300mm f2,8 GM OSS
Canon RF 800mm F11 IS STM
I am really surprised, Canon still hasn't opened their lens mount. When do you think that you can eventually buy other lenses for Canon RF?
Quote from: Grognard on November 20, 2023, 12:40:39 PMif so, then rolling shutter should be the same too?
Already been discussed here.
The DR is the same because 3.5k is just a crop of the full frame, the sensor capability remains the same

To me, there is. And rolling shutter makes me sick with FF @ wide angles.
But all of this is subjective of course.
