My question is does Magic Lantern change these files and and require a MAC program such as Final Cut to use the raw files?
Thank you
no,
but premiere will not open DNG files, you need Aftereffects, ot Photoshop, i like pfotoshop,
- you shoot your RAW
- you convert it to DNG with raw2dng.exe
- in photoshop you go File>Open>go to folder> click on single DNG> Ctrl+A>Open
- edit raw image
- Select all
- Synchronize
- Save Images in the .tif or even jpg  format
- open image sequence in any NLE

i am on 7.0 CS6, it works OK

i can run it on 5Dmkiii, but i have no clue how, my guess - first  is to replace autoexec on the card,
"source" step is mystery to me, then run the test from debug menu, then send you a bench.log,
but what do i do with this piece of code from the first link  :)?

i don't know what's going on,
on the May 14 build i was able to film full 1920x1080 4Gb files, but with some dropped frames, on today's build the largest rez i can do that is 1920 x720, but no dropped frames,
i am on Mkiii Lexar x1000,
is this normal?

After the bootflag process I get a ROM.dat file on the card of 16mb I guess this is right.
yeah, tat's how i made it work on 5DmkIII,
don't see any missing steps from what you're doing,
i don't know man, try another card, another build, no clue man, i am myself new to this shit :)

I get an  error message - could not find ML files, followed by a series of other messages, then some garbage half way up the screen, which stays there. Is this normal behaviour?
yes, just make sure you let enough time for couple lines of "garbage" to appear, it writes a file at that time

Moving onto the next steps, I have deleted the bootflag file and added the ML folder and autoexec file. Plus made the card bootage with EOScard, following the instructions for that. When I load it up, nothing happens when I press the trash button.
yes looks right, you copy ML  folder and autoexec, then you use EOScard, just don't forget to check EOS_DEVELOP and BOOTDISC check boxes

it's still faster than film :)

BIG thank you to the ML team, the raw image out of 5D is just stunning, and it is real RAW

even after setting AE default preferences to 24fps instead of 30, i still get weird  motion
what's missing?
