The instructions were vague on purpose. I don't want people running it without thinking a bit. Heck it's not even an alpha.
But once again it's clear that people don't even read the second line, let alone the fine print.

Good thinking,
Even though i went into the installation confused, having to look into it forced me to learn about how the camera works and the dangers involved.

That being said, I'll hold off on doing a tutorial video which will hopefully keep people from bricking their cameras.

Does anyone have a link to the DevKit, I see the small text but no link to the "repository" where I can download it.

EDIT: Ignore my noobiness, I found it and was able to set the bootflag and install ML.

At this point it seems a bit buggy, as it was jumping from liveview to menu's and a No Image screen, but after it ran for a bit that went away.

I will try to make a tutorial video tonight on how to go about installing ML on the 650D, from a bone stock camera.

Did you check "Make DSLR Bootable" ?

Yea I did, I then copied the ML files to the root of the SD card and booted my camera,
I was unable to open ML at all from there.
Is there another step I'm missing?

(BTW thanks for the help!)

I too am unable to load ML,

I set the card to be bootable with MacBoot, but I don't know how to set the Boot Flag on as well.

you need EOSCard

Is that just the canon utility? If not where can I download it?

I'll be testing this tonight if someone can explain how to enable the bootflag. I was already planning on doing some greenscreen tests, now I have this to look forward to as well!

This is awesome guys, well done!

A few people have talked about using 1000x CF cards for this, will anything like this be possible on SD cards?

I agree,

I have been looking forward to this as well, but don't wanna rush the dev's or make them feel undue pressure.
That being said, I am more than willing to donate to this. These guys are working really hard to make our lives easier, if I met them in person the least I'd do is buy them a beer. Donating to this would be the virtual "beer's on me".

Thanks for the replies Guys.
I'm going to work on learning C#, and hopefully I will be able to understand this kind of programming someday.

I have a question for the programmers,

How did you learn all of this?

I am just starting to learn basic coding (HTML and JavaScript) and I'm thinking about which to move onto (I'm thinking C#)
But, I would love to learn how you guys were able to learn to reverse engineer the Canon firmware and "hack"(I know its not the most applicable term) into it for added features.

I've always loved learning how things work, and tinkering with it, and this seems like a natural progression.

Thanks for any info you can give!

Been lurking for too long without paying respect.

Thanks for all the hard work guys,
as someone who is just diving into programming on the side as well as having a full time job,
I have a huge respect for you guys being able to put such hard work into this project.
Best of luck with everything, and don't stress over it too much!
