This is a great idea. Tested it and it works well. However, would it be possible to have the proxy h.264 recording together with the non-lite flavour of MLV (with sound).
That would make post-production syncing a lot easier. Thanks!

Hi!
The app crashes on 10.11 when I start it :
"The last time you opened Footage, it unexpectedly quit while reopening windows. Do you want to try to reopen its windows again?" and after that "Footage quit unexpectedly."
The app is a great idea by the way!

Remote control of the camera functions & ML settings via the wifi SD card paired with a smartphone or laptop would be pretty cool  :)

I was already thinking about some sort of PTP implementation to have a sort of "console", maybe in future when it will return to works also launch scripts.
I think your idea is good...go ahead :)
I can already test it on Flucard and PQI.

Good point  ;D Is it possible to do it via DIGIC? Would be a very nice feature... Especially if the proxies could be streamed via wifi. But even without the wifi streaming it would be awesome to have small proxy clips on the cam in addition to the RAW clips.

This sounds interesting  :) Maybe one could use the processing power of the card's hardware to encode small proxy videos of the RAW footage. Ideally, the proxies would be small enough so that they could be streamed to a phone/tablet/laptop via the cards wifi.

Wonder if HDR raw capture is possible directly to a fast CF...
I don't really understand how he got the HDR stream in Live View.
It almost looks to me like he's using that board to remote control magic lantern functions on the camera via USB.
Someone got any ideas on how his set-up works?

Don't know if this has been posted already but a student from the University of Toronto has managed to produce real time HDR Video with a 60D, Magic Lantern and an off-the-shelf video processing board with a field programmable gate array (FPGA) .
Check this out: http://www.engadget.com/2013/06/05/hdr-video-real-time

First RAW and now HDR... impressive stuff. The Canon DSLRs are starting to look more like REDs every day...

Is the ML development team involved in the HDR hack?

Is it possible to simultaneously record H.264 proxies to an SD card while recording RAW to the CF on the 5DIII? The proxies would be very useful for offline editing and have the added advantage that sound is embedded in the file.

Rob Galbraith has posted a 57.5MB/s write speed for the Canon 7D with FW 1.2.5 and the Lexar Professional 1000X 32GB CF. I'm curious to see what kind of RAW video capabilities the 7D could offer with Magic Lantern. Has anyone achieved higher write speeds on the 7D? http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/camera_wb_multi_page.asp?cid=6007-10294
