Hi, I can not figure out if the  followed procedure was successful.
In magic lantern menu I can see the feature  silent picture, but I can not find dual iso  function (how to activate it ? )
Every time I turn off the camera I must manually reload magic lantern.  Is normal that autoboot does not work?
Is the new GUI menu  also in the new firmware? .... I can still see the old menu.

Is nice to see that in this forum there are new signs of life. I appreciate the effort to give even new features to 7d.
I would like to ask what steps should I follow to use the new firmware that  you are testing in these days.

I have copied the new files in the folder  modules in magic lantern alpha 2, but I have not seen anything changed. Not able to see the New gui interface,
I did something wrong?
Could someone kindly explain to me how to do even without autoboot.

Hi, I believe that an alpha 3 is ready and waiting for release, or the work was interrupted because the Dev wanted to invest his time to work on the 5D.

currently i am testing the new/changed features what effect they have on 7D and if their behavior is intended.
and there are a lot new features.

just added ML's vignetting correction to 7D, but needs some testing.
maybe HDR can also get implemented that way. we will see.

well, yes. there will be a next alpha in the near future.
but there is no date yet, as it is done as spare time job and depending on workload in main job and in family,
i have some more or less time for it.

well, currently i am implementing some very interesting stuff: modules
that is something i want to have in the next alpha.

as the 7D is quite popular, that new concept will get a broad user base that tests it
didnt do much 7D-specific stuff yet

the current state has a stability problem.
sometimes when switching mode between play and recording, the camera screen stays black.

dont expect a new alpha the next days.

about the alpha 3: we are currently finding out a lot of interesting stuff.
as long we are still in this process, it makes no sense to release an alpha.
we are currently enjoying finding out how to use it for cool features.

then let us make those cool new features user-safe, and you will see a new 7D/5D3 alpha that will amaze you.

i am still working on YUV422 videos (continuous 12.5 fps works already).
i think it is able to record in RAW also, but first i want to get YUV422 working flawless.
will test it on 7D as soon it works on 5D3

I have two minor reports - questions:

1. in Movie settings, REC/STBY notif: beeps - video is recording, but no sound recording (is it possible to turn mike on)

Well, sound recording on other settings work fine, just when you choose beep notification for start or stop recording, you can hear the beep (that's OK), video is recording, but no sound recording.
It would be fine and much easier for sync audio with video in post, because now with ML  I can trigger (start and stop) video with remote controller, audio is anyway rec by other device.

if that would be the generic 7D user opinion ...

Sorry if I generalized speaking in the plural, this is just my opinion.
But it would be nice to hear instead of what is your point of view concerning further developments for the 7 D.

Also, if the video hack is enabled, ML automatically disable audio. you might want to check that out. Annoying behavior, but that's intentional. For some reason...
