That button doesn't exist on my end. One thing that has always bothered me about this forum
sound is recorded using 44100 samples/sec. i cannot imagine what you mean with being slower than the video.44.1khz is audio for cds/mp3s... music
guess your fps setting was wrong
Perfect sync for start/stop probably isn't completely possible. With MLV, you should be able to sync the audio and video via the SMPTE timecode you're pumping into that 4th channel… but I think development on the SMPTE module has stopped. If it worked and you were using a recorder with TC in, you'd have perfectly synced audio and video all the time.which apps on an iphone will allow it, AND record 48khz as thats what video would take
I am on a mac so testing MLVs is a bit of a pain, and the SMPTE doesn't work on my HD-P2 like it should.
If people want to test the SMPTE feed, you CAN do so on an iPhone with several free apps.
Correction: ML is not a software company, it's just a group of hobbyists.but in comparison, it is the software that you've all put together that allows us to shoot raw, right? I'm just stating as far as analogies go, what would be better suited.
But when you buy a camera do you give money to canon or to the person who developed jpeg every time you take a picture?Theats not a good analogy. A proper analogy would be (do you give money to the people who developed the software for the canon cameras) the answer would be yes, it's a part of canon. We're not talking about giving money to the person who created dng, or who created RAW. Were tLking about giving money to the software company who allowed raw on these cameras which would be ML.
aaphotog: let me see how I get on with various jobs today, and I'll try to load something up for you later on.Oh wow! That would be amazing if you could. Thank you
All the best,
David.
I just got it working on my Nexus 7 (1st Gen)! It's hooked up to my 60D on a shoulder rig, and I'm using it for my viewfinder. I Chainfire's recommended cable, which is a LINDY micro USB to mini USB (read, no adapters!) and it works great! I haven't done much experimenting with it yet, but it looks promising! The only feature that seems to be lacking is focus peaking. I noticed a few people seem to have it working (or maybe I'm calling it by the wrong name), how do I enable it?Do you mind posting a photo of the setup? I'd like to see how you've got the nexus situated on your rig
sorry i sent one as fast as i could...sorry? There's no need for apologies. You are helping me greatly. I appreciate it. I apologize for asking for so much :-)
im uploading some day time shots now
i got some outside stuff to test too.. if you want a .raw file.Yes, I would love it! The longer the better. The last shot was only a couple of seconds. Most of it out of focus. I did a nice grade on it(or so I think) My connection is really slow right now, but I'll try and upload it and send you a private message with the link. But yes, another shot(outside is wonderful) would be amazing. Thank you!
i got alot of test shots i did as well..
here you goGreat idea. thank you, I appreciate it. I'll see what I can do, if it comes out ok

welcome to share for Tutorial purpose
give me a bit i will upload some for you. .dng sequence.Thankyou, it is truly appreciated!
Its more than 15fps with a 5d3.
real time playback, or VERY close to it.
Nexus 7 DSLR controller
I dont get a lag that I notice. If you have a lag, go into your dslrcontroller app. Change from 15fps to 30fps. also, theres another option to speed up the menu. I own an ipad so I only bought the nexus soley for this purpose and have no other apps or memory hogging items on mine... maybe you do???
I paid 170 for a nexus 7
Like 7 bucks for a OTG cable
I believe 8 dollars for 'dslr controller' app
Works without issue.
Real time viewing. No long, no stutters
It just works!
Only problem is, since its usb as opposed to hdmi, you don't see what you see on the camer(ie recording raw in crop mode, you won't see the cropped image if you are seeing it on the cams lcd)
Other than that... NO ISSUES!
seems pretty cheap to me.
App has focus peak and controls for the camera(focusing, shutter, iso/f-stop/shutter speed / White balance settings);
I use the LUT's from Vision color and so far the LUT's have been very good for me.
Last project i did was a 48 hour film project in the Netherlands and to grade the footage a LUT took away a lot of time.
Now i'm grading a bit more for perfection, so i'm regrading the film but i still use the LUT's provided by Vision Color.
The movie we made with this LUT was also awarded best movie by audience and public for the 48 hour film project in Utrecht
Here is a quick screen grab from the current grading (I used the M31 LUT from their collection for the interior shots)
Just hit the zoom button that you would normally use for focusing. It'll bring you to a X5 zoom. It will then capture 2.5k raw images.I have a 5d3 so I could be wrong. hitting the zoom button on my camera may SAY 5x, but in actuality is only recording a 3x crop. ALSO, when you do hit the zoom button, it will NOT record 2.5k. You actually have to go back into the raw recording menu and change the recording size from whatever resolution you have it set to to 2.5k. Hitting the zoom button, simply gives you the option to do it. It doesn't do it for you.
