Camera-specific Development / Re: ML on EOS-M2
September 29, 2020, 08:48:59 AM
spent whole evening trying different combinations
here is what I found:
camera works fine with lens, which was bolted on in process of ML installation (not sure about firmware)...when I try to mount different lens (camera is off), it freezes camera when I switch it on.
It is the same situation with 18-55mm and 11-22mm - camera works with one lens only
It looks like camera registers lens at installation and can't register another one later

I already got 11-22mm and my question was, if it works with M2 + ML...mine is not working - it freezes camera when I put it on ...LED light is blinking red/yellow, when I push switch on

Zeek, thank you
One more question - anybody using 11-22mm lens (or 15-45mm) with ML?

Zeek,
Thanks a lot for quick reply. I watched it again, but could not find any steps you are doing for "refresh register".

solved
1.0.3 firmware + merged ML works great, no issues for a couple days
After installation "Restore ML defaults" at "Config options"

All you need to do is couple tap menu in live view for refresh register.
...not sure, how to do that - it wold be great if you explain it with more details

and there is a big surprise - Focus stacking is working :) reliability is not confirmed yet, but it works
a disappointing thing is the fact 11-22mm lens can not be used with ML  - it was main reason to buy this camera

It looks like I really need your help with my EOS M2 as well
1. I got camera with 1.0.2 firmware
2. Upgraded it 1.0.3
3. Installed ML (got link to it from Zeek's youtube video – thanks for that video)
4. It worked OK, when I used camera with 18-55mm lens...just one thing went wrong – I have assigned "trash can" button for Depth-of-Field reviewing and found, the same button have to be used for ML, so I removed that DOF and could access ML menu (I pushed "trash can" button a few times and it froze camera all that times)
5. I bolted on 11-22mm lens and camera froze on a first frame...I played with 11-22mm until camera started to display corrupted image (some pink stripes at the bottom of screen)
6. Tried to reinstall ML a few times with no success – now it freezes on a first frame even with 18-55mm lens...formatted card in camera and PC
7. Removed ML and it works as it should
8. Tried a few attempts to upgrade with 1.0.4, but camera is not recognizing firmware on a card and freezing
I like this camera and really want to install ML on it.

Camera-specific Development / Re: Canon 50D

Thanks a lot.
A couple more questions.
1. I couldn't find a right way for framing in crop mode. It's just almost unpredictable.
2. When I run a 5 min benchmark, it shows around 50-51mb/s...   1920x1080 Crop Mode at RAW video (MLV) 69-71, at RAW 74-77  - is this normal? (could it be, if the card is not good?)

Hi there,
I'm trying to get RAW 1920x1080 30p in Crop Mode.
I have komputerbay professional 1000x 64GB card
I'm using RAW Video MLV
Camera captures 9 seconds then skips frame and stops (gets about 270 frames)
What do I do wrong?

Hi guys,
A couple questions:
1. Can't find out how to enable focus box in Live View (not canon's one, but small one with percents next to it)
2. When I switch "Kill Canon GUI" to OFF - it's not getting off, but blinking (partially covered with Live View window)
...ML updated today

Duplicate Questions / 50D shutter count
September 09, 2013, 10:35:50 PM
ML shows shutter count on my 50D this way:
22K = 30750+-8292
How to read this info. What is the real count?

Turn off Flash/No Flash which alternates taking shots with and without flash.
It works, which is really great. At least, now I can use it as a backup body for studio work.
Just one thing makes me uncomfortable - T2i/550d makes a lot of "noisy clicks" in this configuration.
I have another camera 50D and it doesn't use prism/mirror in Live view mode at all. It means, when I turn on LV, mirror goes up and stays there.
T2i - turn LV on -> mirror goes up, press half button to focus -> mirror goes down, press full button -> mirror goes up and down, release button -> mirror goes up again. So, for only one shot mirror makes two whole cycles. I am not a pro, but I think this body won't live too long for this kind of usage.
Anyway, I am happy to get ML on my camera.

General Help Q&A / Re: flash tweaks
September 02, 2012, 08:10:45 AM
Yes, I've tried it. I checked it with trigger and 3rd party flash. It works the same. It works...but only every second shot with ML loaded, no matter LV is on or off...works stable, but it passes one full button click and then flashes on second.
Different story with canon's firmware - trigger and flash work only if LV is off, as it should be by default for t2i.
Thanks to developers, it is almost working :)  I really, really need this feature to be working.
I believe it should be submitted as a bug.

There already are tons of non-canon wireless flash triggers that work with the 5d2. Unsure what you are asking.
I have one of them and it works on my 50D in LV after changing the Silent Shooting mode to "[Disable]"
But on 2ti/550 it can't be disabled in native canon's menu.
The trigger works fine on 2ti/550 as well, but  not in Live View.
In ML menu I found "Flash tweaks -> Flash/no flash...3rd p. flash LV" and thought it may be a possible to make that trigger work in LV too, because it is nothing more, than just "3rd p. flash"

Thank you for replies.
I've tried it and worked great - all software works the same with ML installed.
ML just added valuable helpful features.

I wish to try, but couldn't find it...below 100 goes Auto   :-[

What they are for? Could I use non-Canon wireless flash trigger with some of that settings?
#25
I didn't specify - I would like to use Live view mode shooting both video and still. Now I use for that http://breezesys.com/DSLRRemotePro/index.htm (pretty much same as EOS Utility), but I don't think this software will communicate with ML.
