I will try other builds, but my last test was without ML builds cards.

I perfer ask you guys, before proceed with update/re-install the original camera firmware. And if everything goes fine, go to ML builds.

I was testing Build 16/09 1.1.3 4k RAW and I got lot of bad frames, magenta frames, etc. I supposed was resolution or bits and I know is experimental.

So, I rec h264 without raw and crop activated and I get glitches again.

- I put out SD card with ML, and let only CF card.
- test with other lens.
- put out batery.
- rec a couple of standard videos in h264 - without ML card inside- 1/50 and I got again some weird pixels that you can see when you watch something weird and make pause and rewind a couple of frames.

Can you check if I have to send the camera to service , or maybe I should upgrade firmware, make other kind of test, or I don´t know. I´m worry about the life of the sensor. Maybe I am wrong.

It´s my first problem with 5d. Never other or service, or bad pixels or bricks.

I don't see any advantage to work with the new software for the wider market, when you have option for free like Davinci Resolve Lite (and others). But maybe you have a better explanation why you abandone your preview work that was really original and usefull to go foward.

August 20 fail in Emergency when have set 3,5K Crop, 12 bit lossless, and press rec without 5x zoom.
THis expected? Should work without zoom.

Battery out solve the issue.

Mlv play work very good in 14-12 bits lossless.

I made 4 full lenght movies with ML and showed on independet film festivals in Greece, NY, Cannes. I work with very small crew. So, I made the lights, and the camera.

I use 5d3, Raw features. and Rokinon Cine lens at T1.5

During daylight, I am not using any light. But I looking for the shadows and the position of the sun. Best if it is cloudy. Depends your style. I usually use a couple of french flag ( I think in english is "black fonboard"). Using RAW you dont' need set WB.

Indoor I always try to elevate the general light to work up to iso 800. No more if you can avoid pink or death pixels. For this I use a Powerflo: 4 fluorescent tubes at 5-7 meters of the scene, but not direct. After set this, sometimes I use 1 or 2 650w tungsten to create some style, shadows, etc.
Indoor I use a lot the french flags.

The rest is Davinci Resolve

Sound, when you shoot is a good idea.
Please, share the build.

When MLV is ON, no problem. Bars show the level.
When is OFF, I think is better the legend: NO SOUND.

I don't want to prolong a common sense proposal, and a check list sorry but is not enough today. Excepto if you shoot mountines and cats on the grass.
ML from two years at today was adding lot of menus, and beautifull tools.
People like me - and maybe you -  who today shoot with ML know the dozens of variables in every shoot, bits, pixels size, crop factors, iso, lens, people asking, restarts, cards, backups, freezes... and people like me don't use - we can't afford - have a guy to check the sound, other with focus.

We need the best solution, even, when you know that you can forget one of 77 variables.

Yes, its what you say.

But lot of variables, settings, values - people - when filming and it's very common forget activate sound.

Please, ML Team, add NO SOUND to the screen, to modules nightly or experimental, when the sound is not recording.
Lot of problems here, and headphones works even without MLV SOUND.

If I forgot to activate MLV sound when I shooted in raw, it's impossible to recover sound, really?

I have to decide If I have to make a full production day for this mistake - I got sound in headphones - ...but before ask you.

Thank you. Perfect explanation!

- I applied correct vertical patern and I got green vertical lines in the footage ready for davinci.
- I applied remove dots and was remove intermitently in the footage.

I cancelled all the correction and the soft works excelent. I made dots corrections into Resolve.

(I made the shots at iso 3200 and a very hot camera, that's why I got the dots).

Wich lenses are you going to use?
Take in mind the crop factor because it's huge.

Wich continous maximum resolution can I use for my new full length movie?

(I promess next Cannes festival take a picture in the end of the movie with the logo of ML)

it's possible tweak the Canon zoom from 3x to 2X or less? In Canon Menu on 5d3 it's possible put 10x 5x etc.
(I mean, use the sensor data to get raw/h264, but not too cropped).

I saw the Baldavenger work, it's interesting, but I need to simplify work and it's very complex and time demanding in real works situations.
