I shoot quite a few sets of photos with the intention of stacking them (exposure bracketed) or stitching them (multi-row panorama) or occasionally both...  after taking several such sets, along with a number of individual shots (either deliberately or for just checking exposure/focus etc) it can get very hard to easily identify which photos belong to each set. This is especially true when I am doing multi-row astro panoramas where the first row or two often look very similar because it is just sky/stars with no foreground features to know where that row started/ended (so I have to remember, a day or so later, whether that particular set that I took at 2:34am was 4x3 or 5x3 exposures etc)
It would be really helpful, in these scenarios, if we could assign on of the buttons on the camera to adding a blank (no actual shutter/sensor involved) marker frame (perhaps with time, image count, iso/shutter/aperture, etc info)
With a feature like this we could add a marker frame at the end of each row in a pano, or between each set of exposure bracketed shots, or when just moving location slightly, etc
By doing this, when it comes time to download and review photos, it would be much quicker/easier to see which photos belong together.
