This is something that has always bothered me. I'm sure other people with lower end external monitors have this problem too.
I have the T2i, which outputs a 3:2 aspect ratio (720x480 resolution) to an external monitor that is locked in at 5:3 (15:9)(800x480 resolution). So whenever I connect the monitor, the picture is stretched horizontally to make the 720px image fit the 800px display.
I noticed that there is a setting under the Display Tab called "Screen layout settings..." where I can change the scaling from 3:2, 16:9, and 16:10 (http://wiki.magiclantern.fm/userguide#screen_layout_settings). Is it possible to make a 5:3 (or 15:9) setting also so that things look "square" for external monitors?
As an added bonus, it would be great to be able to set custom horizontal and vertical scale levels, similar to how the DP4/6 and Zacuto EVF can do. This video shows what I am talking about: http://vimeo.com/27017541.
Thanks all to the ML Developers!
