Raw Video / What hardware are you guys writing to?
March 19, 2017, 11:20:54 PM
Since shooting RAW footage gobbles up so much data in such a short amount of time, I must ask exactly what hardware are you recording to? I suppose this should be skewed toward users of the t5i like myself, but are you just using multiple SD cards with ML installed on them? I shot about 30 seconds of RAW at my max res (which was only something like 1280x544...it wouldn't shoot higher than that without stopping after about 10 seconds) and that ate up over 1GB of card space. I'm going to be popping that card out in no time, so are you guys just keeping a massive stash of SD cards on hand for shoots? Thanks a lot.

General Help Q&A / t5i/700d hdmi RAW output format
December 12, 2016, 07:13:18 PM
I've been digging around for info on this specifically, but the newest stuff I've found is over a year old so I figured it might be ok to ask some basic questions.

For the 700D, what is the max live stream ML output size? I've read that I won't get better than 720p (which honestly is fine by me) Has the 700D improved in this area and can maybe now handle 1080p?

Is the RAW video output really 14-bit? This will gobble up an SD card in no time. Is the Atomos Ninja a good solution (I know they make a lot of different ones, but since Atomos isn't officially endorsing the 700D as a supported camera (no doubt due to the ML hack), I'm curious to know which flavor of Ninja would be best.

I'll keep searching for an up to date thread on this in the meantime, thanks.

General Help Q&A / Can't find RAW option anywhere
December 10, 2016, 02:07:47 PM
I posted this earlier in another forum, but it seems more appropriate here. I'm running firmware 1.1.4 on my t5i. I downloaded ML, and I cannot seem to locate where I can set it to shoot RAW video. Everything I've read says it should be there. I can see the option to vary the H264 bitrate, but nothing about RAW. Ideas? Thanks.
