I saw this thread http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=2712.0 but it wasn't exactly what I had in mind and also hadn't been touched in a little while.
My thoughts on this are that there are times when I am filming that I would like to take a couple of full res. photos or times when I am mostly taking photos that I would like to switch over and film something really quick, yet I have to adjust the exposure and white balance for each separately.
Would it be possible to have a setting that would hold the exposure and white balance settings across both of these modes so that switching back and forth wouldn't require any time to adjust or re-adjust the exposure? I understand that if the shutter speed is at a slower speed than possible for the frame rate of video size you were shooting at it would be a little troubling, but what if the exposure lock feature was somehow combined into this feature to where if you were taking photos at a longer exposure, the camera would bump the aperture or ISO to compensate?
