Raw Video / File ends prematurely during blockheader
December 22, 2014, 11:47:21 PM
I am out in the field right now and recorded about 15 MLV clips. When I played back all of them using the MLV player in the camera only 13 played fine. Two of them load and show the "file ends prematurely" error. Does this mean both those files are corrupted or will they play back fine on computer? Bout to head home to see but wanted some input on the problem. I am using the August 2 nightly build for the 5D3 1.1.3 firmware. Any help would be much appreciated.

I love the digital dolly feature when using the RAW video option. Is there any way we can spice it up by getting varrying speeds of the digital dolly pan like "slow" "normal" and "extra fast"?

Just a thread to see how many people are still sticking to H.264 and their reasons for doing so. As great as RAW video is, I know there are some that might not be able to take advantage of it because of storage space or heavier workflow. There are some new great programs like this one in the link below that can get some of the dynamic range back that is lost in h.264 and can gain some sharpness as well. Not too sure how this would hold up versus using RAW but I'm guessing RAW would still beat it. Nonetheless, it could still be "good enough" that most everyday users would not notice.

I searched the forums and read the rules so I am not certain where my question should go so I decided to start a new topic. I read somewhere that even if you format the card with ML RAW on it, that the boot-flag is still enabled. Reason I want to reformat my card is because I want to record more than 4GB through the RAW_REC module in a single file. I had this set to FAT32 when I installed ML RAW and through the reading of the forums it seems that I need to reformat my CF card in the EXFAT format to record more than 4GB in a single file. So my question is do I have to do anything different when re-installing ML RAW again in that CF card since the boot-flag is still enabled even with the prior format? Any help is great. Would love to record more than 4GB limit in a single and want to know if I can just use same procedure in installing it again as if I were installing it brand new after a format. Thanks all.
