Post-processing Workflow / Obsession about LUTs
November 28, 2018, 09:30:02 PM
Hello people

Lately LUTs are very fashionable.
I wonder what is the workflow of shooting ML RAW combined with LUTs
As far as someone told me, LUTs must be supported by the Camera.
I am confused.
Anyone can highlight me ?

Hello

I am not aware if it is possible to use the USB plug in order to get a 2nd monitor like this video

Raw Video / Alternative RAW Workflow
July 09, 2016, 08:09:13 AM
Recently I read a different workflow for RAW processing

Instead of processing DNG files in their original size, you load them into Photoshop and export them in larger size.
Other than the better interpolation, is there a hidden benefit or are we concluding to the same result through a longer path ?

I set an ambush every dawn to time lapse sunrise, that is dramatic change of light conditions.
I read my homework, setting the camera to all manual, Shooting mode, manual focus and ETTR and intervalometer.

Timelapse results have some "surprises" of light, causing successive parts of smooth results but not smooth as a whole.
My reading the metadata I concluded that every time ETTR changes ISO, it creates sudden change of light conditions.
Or if there is a car with lights on that shows up in the photo, ETTR considers it (naturally) in the calculation.

This morning I recorded a timelapse with ETTR disabled, in order to have everything manual and cropping the edges of time lapse due to underexposed/overexposed data.

Is there a way for ETTR to create more "even" results ?

Feature Requests / ETTR & FPS
December 23, 2015, 03:11:56 PM
Usually shutter speed is 2x FPS.

When using ETTR, it adjusts all parameters but it is not inteligent enough to read FPS.
So, If I shoot at 50/60FPS, ETTR doesnt adjust shutter to 1/100 or 1/120 shutter speed, so there is banding due to difference of frequencies.
Please make ETTR to consider FPS

Thank you

Shoot Preparation / Slightly off topic
December 17, 2015, 04:53:13 PM
Hello guys

Having 3-4 different rigs (handheld, monopod, steadicam, tripod), its painfully slow to swap from one rig to the other because there is a lot of screw driving and careful placing due to elegance of equipment. Is it helpful to unify somehow this tedious procedure by adding the same quick release plate on all of the rigs, on top of the existing ones ?

Thanks for any reply

General Help Q&A / while Recording
December 17, 2015, 04:48:43 PM
Sorry for the silly question ...
but I do not remember if Cropmarks are visible while Camera is recording.
I only see a Green/Red little camera flashing a a timer.
Am I wrong ?

Before my Canon 5d3, I used to have an old cropped sensor camera.

While I was expecting my 5d3 to arrive, I ordered a Holga Lens together with a Fish Eye Lens for it, for something like 40 euros total.
I was disappointed to find out that this potential cheap fish eye solution was for a cropped sensor camera, so all I see was black barrel and a circular fish eye image in the middle.

BUT ... with Magic Lantern, I can record the Fish Eye in 1920x1080 using the Crop Mode.
How nice !!!!!!
For 40 euros, I saved myself some hundreds investing in a Fish Eye Lens.

Incredible idea. So happy. Thanks to all ML developers and users.
