Hi guys, here is another video i shot in ML Raw.
Since the first RAW production 2 years ago, i am pretty much into it (and love it)
Out of 100 clips i had like 5 with pink frames. My experience- let the camera cool down and format the cf as often as possible.
Workflow as usual, import to AE, debayer, noise reduction in ae (safes memory when editing in pp)- usually i export a log (cineform 10 bit), but this time i had the look in my mind, so i did the (main) cc in acr.

this is just a heart -project, nothing i got paid for. I shot some clips of my beautiful hometown over the last years, and made a trailer out of it.
Just added some subtitles, because it´s located in Germany.
Completely shot in raw (mlv), as usual, debayering the dngs via acr, exporting 10bit avis to Premiere.
Color grading via Magic Bullet Colorista. Love it.

I did not show it to anybody yet.

from one day to another, the modules were gone. (5d mkiii 113)
I fomated the card, loaded the newest built, loaded the modules, restarted and the modules were there. after another start, they re gone again.
I need raw, when the cam is on, on the screen i can see the modules, but in the menu, there are no entries.
when i try to record raw (which is on by default..), it says hack error o.
What s going on here?
Bad timing, cause i have to film a commercial tomorow...

Problem solved...
Tried some older builts, same problem, and one did not install at all and freeze the set button...
now i am on july 1st, and everything seems to work fine. after formating card several times and using a different card.

i used one build from the beginning of the year on my mkiii with 113.
Now it was time to extract the mlv to dng, and every 1-2 seconds there are 1-3 black frames, in rawviewer, with mlv2cdng, rawconverter and so on.
When i watch the files on cam, they are fine.
Do you have any ideas?

tried some matte painting with this video, completely shot in raw on 5dmkiii.
Created 10 BIT AVis via AE, edit in Premiere and cc in premiere/after effects. I created a bleached-james ryan-look with magic bullet looks and saved skin with colorista.
was a lot of fun but took hours...

Hi, shot this one for a local fixed/ bmx bikeshop on my 5d, raw helped a lot because we had no lights or money..

Did the normal Visionlog workflow in ae, going out flat to 10 bit 422 avi for editing in premiere, osiris lut and cc.

Just wanted to share this clip i madeduring summer.
I shot raw on MK III , glidecam and Slider and also did time/ hyperlapse.
The idea behind this project is explained on the vimeo page.
It was really fun shooting this, the only thing i hated was rendering out- 12 hours.. found a mistake... 12 hours again...

Some tech stuff:
RAW Workflow with Magic Lantern:

Check newest Magic Lantern builts every day. Record. Check footage, write down timecode and some meta data, import video and audio, double safe.
There was no post workflow that satisfied me, i do not want to work with davinci, so i had to figure out my own.
Transferring RAW to DNG. Importing DNG in After Effects. Doing wb, lights and stuff in ACR.
Import into sequence. Create proxys.
Open in Premiere.Doing everything except colour correction and degraining. Uncheck proxys, cc. Sidenote: I really love Magic Bullet Colorista. It also works in 16 bit, and it can do everything Davinci can.
Animated masks, keying, working together with Magic Bullet Looks.
Also the Magic Bullet Denoiser works great for me, Neat Video was not stable and did not get the results i wanted.
(Check this: If you turn on "Motion" in Magic Bullet Denoiser, rendering time almost doubles)
I had like 200 GB of RAW Material, plus the cr2 files from timelapse and hyperlapse.
The final export took 12 hours.
Thanks to Magic Lantern RAW, i had full 14 bit video. Did not export the whole 6:30 min clip uncompressed yet, but expect it somewhere at 30 GB.
There is no comparing to 8 bit video, "normal" dslrs gives you. It`s not about resolution, 4k, 120fps and stuff
-it' s all about dynamik range.

Hi, just wanted to tell you about my actual problem, because others have the same, i started a new thread.
latest nightly built for MK III, and raw2dng from here http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=5404.0.
When i open the files in acr, it always says canicon in the topic. i tried several things, like the raw2cdng, rawanizer etc, but i always have the "embedded" option only.
any ideas how to tell the files that i am using a mkiii, i even want to play around with the profiles (flat, landscape...), but nothing is there.
when i open a cr2 file, the profiles are there again, so this problem does not come from acr.
maybe there is a newer version of raw2dng?

**edit: using raw2cdng, in the app the MK III name shows up. but again in acr, its named canikon...

yesterday i did a timelapse with august 6th nightly for mk3.
when i set it to 2 seconds (shutter was something about 1/10), it took a picture, and after 2 seconds 2 pictures. then again 1 and after that 2 and so on..
maybe it did something wrong?

You can download them via Black Magic, just go to the Video-Cards support and download the whole Bundle.
I read somewhere that it is up to 14 bit, but did not find anything yet.
I was not able to try it yet.

have you seen it? announced as a "gamechanger", but no replacement for a steadycam...

Hello, i may have overread this somewhere-
when i am using ML and the HDR Video feature, does it override the actual iso settings?
Like when i have ISO 800 in my cam, and i am choosing iso 100 and e.g. 1200 in hdr menu, so the 800 will become 1200?

i do not want to post this in a "normal" video or dslr- Forum,
because you guys from ML gave us so much, so i d like to share this only with you and all your supporters.
It s pretty easy to built a holder for your Tablet (using dslr controller for example).
Looking for a Tablet that is not large and does not cost that much, i came up with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7"-
it cost me 170 Euro, dlsr controller runs on it and it is not that big in size, so i can use it on my steadycam as preview.
I searched the web for a while but did not find good Holders, except one from a film guy who sells them for 80 Euros...
So, go and get a http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0084YWC32/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Tablet Holder,
buy a cheap magicarm http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B009TQ2YJ6/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and get a Front Plate od a bicycle stem! That s it!
Drill a thread in the stem plate for 1/4", and use the holes to fix it on the tablet-holder.
There is like 5mm space between the bottom of the holder an the tablet, so it s easy to use big screws.
Check the picture, i think it s better to understand.
So i only paid 50 Euros for all of this-

we all know that filming with the right picturestyle, close to the result we want, is the best way to do.
But there are so many out there, maybe we can just collect sample pictures, like on the left side canon neutral, right side xxx picture style.
I searched the whole web for something like this.
What do you think?
