Hello, I found Resolve Export speed is significantly faster than AE by around 300%. While I did not export to the exact same codec (I think), both were choosen to export the same DNG sequence to a 10 bit RGB clip (resulted same size) without effects applied. I enabled the Multiprocessing setting in AE and all cores work at full load, yet Resolve gets the job done faster. Is this common behavior or is there a way to level AE up?

Hi.

If I add a v210 10-bit yuv clip to a Adobe Premiere preview window it shows large stripes. Can this be fixed or is this a common problem?

Hello, what is the best video format to export a DNG Sequence in After Effects? Till now I exported uncompressed AVI and I am wondering if there is a better format to choose instead to keep more details or save space!? I am not so familiar with the color spaces so I am not really sure what to look after. I am not yet aware what 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 etc exactly means.

Feature Requests / Focus Distance bigger and centered
October 14, 2013, 12:09:20 AM
Hello, would it be possible to add an option that highlights the focus distance somewhat larger on the Liveview to make it easier to work with it during handheld shooting? I found the focus peak useful for close distances and the distance measure is better for 1 meter and up, but unfortunately it is very small on the bottom and hard to catch during action. If it was more visible for a shooting then it could be greatly used to make handheld focus changes and do the guess work with actual distance and printed distance on the screen to get the focus right.

Raw Video / Using <100 ISO instead of ND ?
October 02, 2013, 11:43:29 PM
Hello.

Is it smart to use an ISO smaller than 100 instead of applying an ND filter for RAW video capture?
Do the lower ISO values through ML cause negative side effects somehow?

I recorded once more characters on a cosplay event. With ML RAW the images were pretty nice again.

Made with 5d3, sigma 70.200, komputerbay 1050x, tripod. No ND Filter.
Many scenes are with 3x crop mode, RAW. Some scenes have wrong exposure.

I just bought 2x Komputerbay 64 GB and one of them is benchmarked with max 99.000 and the other 500.000 units. I repeated it twice. What is this?

Hello Magic Lantern Team.

Thank you for your fine software.

I read continuous AF is not possible. Fair enough. I would like to suggest a manual AF, that is triggered similar to the AF-ON button. The transition of AF-ON focus is terrible. But I like the idea to have the power to manually trigger auto focus on the center point. That avoids using the focus wheel by hand and adds consistent focus transitions with hopefully consistent focus success.

How? I thought it may be possible to work around the contrast detection difficulties by setting a threshold to hit while focusing back or forth. That means the software no longer tries to find the best contrast but one which is just good enough to hit on the first run. To help the software with the decision of focusing back or forth the user could have 2 control inputs to guide the direction to focus on. The contrast threshold could be an adjustable value in the ML menu to ease different lens qualities or image conditions.
