Hi folks,

Recently I shooted some training seminar for some companies.
they had a large projectors screen and ambient lights.

I shoot on PAL system 50Hz. camera setting(PAL, 1/50 shutter speed) but the projector screen just keep flickering :(

anyway to avoid the projector to being flicker?
I know highend pro cam has features that fix this, but does ML can do some tricks here?

I did played with the camera setting trying to fix that.
here is what I did:
-I tried using difference shutter speed, nothing helps here.
-then I changed to the NTSC in camera, fixed the flickering. BUT I did not shoot on NTSC at the end, because I am not sure that I will get the ambient lights (50hz) banding at the end. I cannot risk for this. it will completely ruined all my shoot :(

so anyone can give me some opinion what should I do, beside getting a pro cams? ::)

Thank you!

Hi guys,

I have been using a 32GB sandisk Extreme 60MB/s (rated 40MB/s write speed)
the speed is very consistent on this card, always run @37-39MB/s when i doing RAW on my 6D.

recently I bought another 3x of the same card..... guess what?
All of it only run @27MB/s...... how is it possible? (cut my RAW duration almost half...... /sign!)
anyone have this problems?

Raw Video / 5dmkIII 1080p raw or GH4 4k 8bit for wedding?
November 07, 2015, 07:38:42 AM
Hi guys.

I am shooting wedding videos/photo mostly.

current setup was 6D + 550D combo

but I dislike the H264 compression when shooting a wide shoot with my Tokina 11-16.
It just too soft no matter what i did. (sharpening it in post, It just gave me a "cheap look" that i dont like)

now I am almost have a budget to upgrade my 6D to mkIII or a GH4

anyone can give some advise?

for mkIII: I like the image quality from raw, but longer processing time(might be trouble for SDE)
for GH4: I never try 4k yet, will the 4k h264 8bit  footage downscale to 1080, will give me a sharp wide shoot like the mkIII raw?

note: I can get sharp wide shoot using my 6D raw@1600 and upscale to 1080 (it still look ALOT better than the H264)
but the downside is, when you shoot wedding a 6-9sec raw is not long enough to cover the shoot I need, I will end up missing the shoot :(

Thanks!

hi guys,

I am soon starting my wedding filming soon, so I am prepare all the gears/skills that i needed right now.

I shoot @25 1080p 2.39

Do i need to use FPS override function if i shoot Raw/Mlv?
Whats is the benefits by using it?
(by reading the sticky "How to record: -- 30/24/25 fps RAW VIDEO ON 5D3 & others --" thread it says best to set Canon setting to 1080 30p then adjust FPS override to 25p? even shooting @25p?)
I am very confuse at this, hope someone can lights me up :(

thanks.

Hi guys. I seem cannot find anyone having this problem but me?

I have 550d and it doesn't lag when I have the same global draw setting. Very smooth when recording too.
Buy my 6D is too laggy, even not recording.
I only get like 10fps. Very hard to do recording.

global draw setting:
Focus peak
Histogram
Zebras
Spot meter
Cropmarks

Disabled focus peak seems to reduced the lag.
Why is the 550D way better than the expensive 6D? :-*

Okie hi folks,

as title do you notices there is a difference between these 2 programs when you grading your footage using cinestyle profile?

recently i got into shooting weddings video with my T2i, when i grade the footage inside AE there is color banding everywhere..... (am i doing it wrong?)
I scratch my head until this week i gave nuke a try.... and boom!
u can really push the 8bits footage to VERY far compared to AE. especially skies and skintone..... theres no banding showing up in nuke.
even if u push it to extreme it will shows some banding... its very impressive for me so far (guess thats why its so expensive......)

Here is the example:
Nuke graded-- looks clean

AE graded-- banding apear ;(

Nuke push to extreme

AE push to extreme

Whats your thought?
