Friend has put latest nightly onto his 7D,

I use a 5Dmkii so im unsure how to setup his 7D for Raw video as it has a full on movie mode, does he press the record button or select like the 5Dmkii?

Does the 7D need to be in S jpeg mode like the mkii or is raw used via movie mode?

He also uses his 7D for production work, does anyone recommend a build thats stable for him to use please?

Any more input info would be great such as settings etc etc, or even a link to any info be great that i can pass on,

I would liek to create my own crop mark overlays, i dragged one from the ML crop folder and imported to PS, i noticed i had to change the format to allow me to edit it, but when it comes to converting back to the same settings im unsure what has been used, could someone point me in the direction if there is a tutorial on here or if you could post PS export settings, cheers!

With ML having a File Explorer feature, would it possible to be able to use a OTG cable used on Android devices to backup the cameras memory card to an USB stick/device? We all know the rule of carrying more than one card, but say for instance one died or one was full and not backed up on a computer, Plug in the OTG cable with a USB stick, copy the contents over to the USB, format the card and carry on? The OTG cable is a great thing to own when owning a Android device and as there so cheap i could see it been a good little add on to the ML functions.

Going be working with a group who are dyslexic, some of them have color overlay gels that help them to read text better, i noticed there is various colours to choose but some use a light blue gel and a purple/violet colour, possible to add these colours to the build? i placed over the lcd screen with a gel that they used and the screen becomes lil to distort which dosnt help them read text on screen.

Would it be possible to have an option before filming in crop to make sure you are capturing correctly.

For instance, enable raw and x5, go to ML RAW video menu and select grab frame, this then takes a single frame dng and opens up in picview/file manager to show what framing is going to look like, once happy, simply press record, if not happy, compose around take another grab and see if its correct.

Please correct me if what you see in x5 is exactly what will be recorded, iv only shot a couple times on it while back and what was centre was in centre but there was more to the footage than LV was displaying.

The new ML user guide is starting to be updated.

As there are now new features, images will need to be used to show examples, such as Dual Iso, RAW video etc etc..

I noticed this got removed awhile back as it could not be changed back from canon menu.

im really liking some of the new features and hate going back to and old firmware to use Sraw, could it be possible to be made into a module so people can have a choice of using it? be great if you could! card gets full very quick shooting full 18mp RAW images.

What would be the best way to do this?

I noticed Aettr will keep a constant exposure as its turning dark, cant find any exposure ramping, only method i can think is doing a gradual under expose in after effects.

Solved i think... used Aettr to meter then disable it.. used deflicker n all looks ok.

Heres my sample with using Atter to do first metering and then disbaled after metering complete... unfortuantly ran out of battery juice to carry on to getting darker.

Wondered if any one has any good tips on deflicker and ettr, i did a time lapse shot yesterday and wanted mainly the sky to be flicker free, dumb me metered on a white building so the sky suffers flicker, how would someone go about keep the sky flicker free? im worried that if i meter on a cloud, when cloud's pass or are not in the meter box ettr will change its exposure and cause flicker.

Never done a time lapse before so decided to have a go before doing a proper one. Any feedback would great so i know for next time.

Setup: Silent Shutter - Image every 6Sec - Auto Ettr - exiftool for exposure - photoshop for colour - after effects import 24fps/export - upscale (need slowing down you think, 24fps seems too fast anyone recommend a frame rate?)

Sorry for quality, youtube compression is bad, in orginal footage there is no green/blue/yellows in the clouds.. 1080p on youtube slightly fixes it.

Was playing around with time lapse and chose xmp deflicker, but no xmp files where created :/ i noticed in bottom left it said deflickering but i was sure side files where so pose to be created?

600D Sept 14th Nightly Build.  shot at 18mp RAW

I noticed they save when using Silent Shutter, does deflicker get added too the cr2 file now instead which is why im not seeing them?

Selected both modes as wanting to get extra images on my card for my time lapse and 18mp is far too big, selected Sraw then Mraw and images are still 18mp cr2's.

Unfortunately my 2nd hand 50D died in two days of use (not magic lantern related)

Iv decided to buy a 600D instead as its mainly going to be used for timelapses, searched for 600D ML with RAW video and Dual Iso modules but can only find builds from July with just RAW module, could someone point me in the right direction to the latest builds with these functions added please.

Tested RAW on my 50D today, converted using RAWmagic and raw2dng which says for mkii when opened (mac), i found that rawmagic gave a pink cast over the top, am i ok to use raw2dng to convert my 50D raw footage?

Iv spotted theres a few different builds from couple o devs, what are people using please and if possible some links? iv clicked on the posts for 50D and 40D but can only see builds from July.

Used dual iso a few times and today spotted something i haven't come across and trying to solve.

In some highlighted areas, mainly around leaves and branches I have purple/pink spots, anyone have any good tips on how to remove in one or is it the case of cloning them out?

Does anyone know if the camera heats up using fps override as much as shooting normal raw footage say? im expecting it too be much cooler than 24p but would like to double check before leaving the camera for few hours.

Seen a few examples posted, i noticed some say Playback and some Photo mode, I noticed playback has better speeds but what is the actual one to use for testing speed for RAW video.

With the help of ML i was able to capture this on te meteor night few nights ago, where i live its difficult to focus on a star, using fps over ride i was able to capture this from my room thanks ML team!!

bottom right is light leak from someones window... shame

Got slight flicker today for the first time doing a batch edit where some images are either slightly underexposed or over.

Thought id give Dual Iso HDR a shot.

Super quick test so i know for sure more detail can be pulled and more noise can be cleaned up.

Setup:
ML Auto Bracket - 9 Shots (did this to cover everything just incase)
1ev
Dual Iso
HDR Efex Pro 2 - Balanced
Photoshop CC - Camera Raw Filter to bring down the greens, ad slight sharpen,
100% No noise reduction at all,

Originals are at bottom of image Crap shot and comp but wanted to test before producing finals.

I use to find that clouds and shadows areas produced alot of noise... now with dual iso that is almost 100% gone!!
(Image is slightly blurry as i shot at 2.8, sorry about that)

Loving Dual Iso on my mkii, just a question on something, when its enabled i noticed taking an image at correct exposure shows up on preview as over exposed, im guessing it is correct but the 2nd high iso makes the image looks this way. Is this normal or do i shoot half of correct exposure? sorry if this is confusing but basically im asking do i meter my shot as shooting normal?

Is there an option for this?

I would like to be able to do some HDR with just the iso changing and leaving the shutter and aperture the same, say first shot is correct exposure is 200, under is 100 and over is 320 or even 400, is this possible please and if so where could i find it please? 

Iv been using the Auto Exposure module and find it amazing! but iv spotted a module been mentioned in a few post's about a Auto Aperture module, is this for the 5Dmkii also? if so where can i find the download to it please? Thanks 

Iv noticed theres a micro adjustment feature in ML, is there guide on here to help me with it? i got a couple of lenses that need doing and the canon method isnt working as good as i hoped.

Does this mean its been achieved on the mkii?

Not sure if this is possible or not but thought id ask anyway

I like the overlays that ML has for portrait's and etc and the ability to create your own templates.

Is it possible to to do the same with RAW Video framing? so instead of a black box or white frame you can create your own to help with different projects. Iv taken screen shots from my camera and Photoshopped them to look like what im asking but i dont know how to upload an image so im sorry in advanced if this post is not clear.

As there are a lot of framing sizes and ratio's i wouldn't mind if it was possible it didn't come with any templates as im happy to create them for the ones i would need.

How do,

I was wondering if someone could be so kind to explain in detail how to join a split file together using cat in terminal? i have seen the command but i get "No directory found", iv dragged the folder into terminal and terminal confirms its a directory, i paste in the code to join and it says No file directory found.

I think what im struggling with is telling Terminal where the files are and where to export, so if someone could possibly Copy and Paste the full details how what they would put so i can copy identically that would be great, i know some file names are different and i would have to rename. Got a 6gb file here that i cant use atm, Iv used RAWmagic to get the dng's but i love RAW2DNG for its extra options and i find it to be much more stable and reliable.

I want to buy my first 1000x CF card today and im wondering what to go for, i have the choice of:

Transcend 16GB 1000x - £44.88
KOMPUTERBAY 64GB COMPACT FLASH CARD CF professional 1000X - £96
Komputerbay 32GB Professional 1000x CF COMPACT FLASH CARD - £55
Lexar Professional 16GB 1000x - £60

Im unsure what to buy, iv read good things about komputerbay but iv also read the same amount of negative, im more bothered about it keeping the write speed than the amount of GB it has.

i currently have a Sandisk 16gb 600x and i can continuos shoot all apart from 1600 and above.

hope someone can help

UPDATE: Got advised to buy a Transcend 32gb 1000x as there read and writes are best he's tested, £75 inc PnP not too bad

How do i do this please? cant find the option, im currently running 22nd June Build for 5D mkii, or does 180 degree mean shutter speed of 1/48 when filming at 24/25p? in ML menu my lowest shutter closest to 1/48 is 1/46.8, how can i change it to 48?

Loving this mode, one thing im finding missing from it if its possible, can we have access to speed modes? i find left to right a lil too fast where as up and down is at a nice pace, are we able to make Slow, Medium, Fast?
