General Help Q&A / Canon EOS M200
April 29, 2020, 01:54:05 AM
Hi Alex/team,

It's been a while since I started using my camera again and I was hoping to upgrade my camera from 550D to a mirrorless.

Unfortunately, I can't find EOS M or M2 in Indian market!

The only product listed on Canon India website that meets my budget constraint is M200

https://in.canon/consumer/eos-m200-ef-m15-45mm-f-3-5-6-3-is-stm/product?category=photography&subCategory=interchangeable-lens-cameras

Could you please advise, if the hack works on this? Has it been tested by anyone?

I couldn't find any relevant thread, or I might've not searched thoroughly.

Any suggestions would greatly help me decide.

Cheers & be safe!  8)

Hi All,

I was checking some amazing videos on YouTube regarding usability of C mount (cheap CCTV Fujion) lens on Sony Nex series.

Could anyone let me know if you have ever tried using such lens on EF/EFs mount; are there any converters/adapters available out in the market?

I am fairly new in understanding the concept of Micro four third mount and I was hoping that there could be a way to somehow use it on my 550D.

Also, on the contrary I was thinking of going for EOS-M. Is there any way these lens might be useful on those cameras? :)

I was considering Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera, however, it is too expensive here in India (at 91000/- INR).

I had initially thought of going for a high end DSLR, however, after analyzing my needs and the time I spend with camera I have cornered EOS-M (as it too has RAW enabled with help of Magic Lantern Team) :)

The lens I am referring to could be found here:-

Hope to hear from you soon.

Cheers,

Hi All,

I recently got to know that Canon 5D Mark III can record DNG videos (RAW videos).

Could anyone please let me know if 550D hardware is capable of recording DNG videos. I understand that the resolution might not be anywhere close to 4K (assuming it might however be able to capture at least 2.5 K?) however the quality of images might get better with DNG as it gives us complete control over picture to grade in post production.

Thanks for answering  :)

Hi All,

I am very new to this forum and I did not know whom to approach to understand a problem that I have been observing over few days.

I really appreciate the ML team's work in creating a beautiful software/application, something which the manufacturers (Canon) could not achieve despite the kind of experience they hold in making such beautiful cameras.

I recently upgraded the firmware version to the latest 2.3 ML on my Canon 550D

I liked every feature (my favourite is FPS override; Rack focus; Ghost Image: Manual Audio ability; the manual in it and everything that ML has ) :)

When the camera is not recording anything (when kept idle for few seconds), the shutter would close/lock and nothing happens. I have to remove the battery and restart the camera.

Could you please advice if this is common or if it is specific to my camera? (Canon EOS 550D/T2i).

Eagerly awaiting your reply/advice.

I apologize if I have posted the question in wrong discussion forum.

Sincerely,
Prabhath MP
