Your right the shadows are noisy. I try to normally choose the EOS HD C-log picture style and of course I pull down the shadows in Adobe Camera RAW. I hope the best for the Canon EOS 5R C II 📺📷🎥

I was thinking about buying a new camera and I am baffled that actually magic lantern still keeps up with other modern cameras. I would basically wait until the Canon EOS R5C Mark II.  With the cameras currently selling, I really am much more happy with the Canon EOS 5D3.

What do you think… will you be interested in a Canon EOS R5C Mark II?

I have been searching for a new beautiful 135mm lens. I have to admit the new lenses for Sony E-mount look somehow better?

Other expensive examples:
Viltrox 16mm F1.8 FE
Canon RF 24-105mm F2.8 L IS USM Z
Canon RF 28-70mm F2 L USM
Sony SEL FE 300mm f2,8 GM OSS
Canon RF 800mm F11 IS STM

I am really surprised, Canon still hasn't opened their lens mount. When do you think that you can eventually buy other lenses for Canon RF?

Beautiful colours.😇
Could I ask which Debayer Algarithm in the MLV App you used? I consider to use no sharpening in Camera, in MLV App or in Adobe at all.

I hope I'm not disturbing. I just wanted to focus on the picture quality. You don't have to watch the whole video :)
Canon EOS 80D with Magic Lantern.
I also can recommend this C-log. I hope you having a good day.

Canon EOS R5 Mark II 62MP
Canon EOS R1 (canon rumours 33-45MP)
I love the grain of the 22MP. What resolution would you prefer?

General Chat / Anamorphic Fullres 5d3
« on: September 25, 2023, 09:39:10 PM »
Dear Magic Lantern Forum,

thinking about having a higher FPS rate… Anamorphic Fullres 15.003p. Since this build was without SD overclocking from beginning on. Even though the most other cinema cameras record on S35 sensors, it would be possible somehow. Is there any interest in having also a bigger ratio… 16:9 / 2:35:1 anamorphic 5.7K in 23, 976 FPS.

I would like to try it somehow 🏳️🙂🏳️ ?

Yes, and a beautiful colour temperature on this Canon EOS 5D Mark III. Just a shame that vimeo.com has no higher resolution than 1080 for the normal customers.

General Chat / New cameras announced!
« on: September 20, 2023, 05:55:36 PM »
Dear Magic Lantern Forum,

I have been following Simon's videos from https://youtube.com/@OrdinaryFilmmaker?si=egKso8CVFV2xGOBr
He is also interested in the new Canon RF,  Lumix, Blackmagic Design, Nikon, and Sony cameras.
I've been thinking about these new cameras the whole day long. And I don't really come to a conclusion. Somehow, the 14-bit… I believe Magic Lantern still has somehow a beautiful picture, but in the future it's getting more and more difficult, and somehow I would wish for the dream camera?
I think before this Blackmagic Design cinema camera 6K full frame / open gate, there was no other camera with open gate?
For the price, I don't think there's any concurrence?
I think the 5D3 is really getting a difficult ranking. Can you see any alternatives?

I don't want to disappoint your expectations. More information on Canon rumors. I noticed that one rumor was deleted, about the Canon EOS R1 would be having a global shutter.

General Help Q&A / Re: 6D Auto-Iso glitching using crop_rec
« on: September 13, 2023, 04:13:37 PM »
Aha, I thought, the automatic ISO doesn't work gradually on all camera models.
Meaning if I turn the automatic ISO on my Canon 5D Mark III, then the gradual exposure…

For example 1 EV /16 frames definitely doesn't work gradually. If it would work, you would see a huge difference skipping each ISO speed stop?

I don't think automatic ISO works in RAW.

You can't imagine how much time and effort are invested in Magic Lantern. Always thinking productively.
Until today, the 5D3 was the most beautiful image. Compared to the 1DX (video).

The autumn of Magic Lantern 🇬🇧

In me, you can see that time of year
Where lately the sweet birds sang
In me, you can see only the dim light that remains
After the sun sets in the west
The image of death that envelops all in rest
Lying on the dying flame of my youth
This you sense, and it makes your love more determined
Causing you to love that which you must give up before long.

masc: "No need to convert to DNG. Renaming can't work. Direct "import & transcode" the cr2 into MLVApp".

I don't know what or how to import and then transcode from *.CR2 to *MLV?

General Development / Re: Ultrafast framed preview (5D3)
« on: September 06, 2023, 08:11:32 PM »
Yes, I tested myself. Should I make a proof video? :)
Difficult for me to ask for something. A great step with the Canon EOS 5D Mark III…
would be… I would wish for the aspect 2:35:1. {full frame | 1.00 /\ 1808x2300 | 1.06}    I think the most of my favorite movies are filmed in that aspect ratio. It will make the camera, more like all the other cameras and I think compared to the modern mirrorless cameras, it has a better film grain. The whole picture detail, with being not so very sharp, makes it a comparable cinema camera.

Shutter fine tunning {fine tune shutter speed in approx. 20-microsecond increasements.
• See basic "Movie" menu. You have to check at which value it goes away yourself… zooming (5x / 10x)…
Similar settings are only found on new mirrorless cameras. Alternative a really strong video light?  :)

I don't want to be disappointed. I think it is a great idea. I recently just wanted to see if it is worth it for me. And I had both settings side by side and I've got two 5D3s and I prefer to press the info button and switch between magic zoom and the other preview. That was tested with the anomorphic mode.
Is there any better rolling shutter or some other kind of better quality, if I use this magic lantern version?
