Ah, got it. Thanks.

Thanks for the info. It's interesting about the motor differences between cameras. I never would have expected that.

This is a thing that I don't understand why camera manufacturers don't just include it. Zone focusing/hyperfocal are kind of basic photography things that shouldn't be so hard.

This might be a dumb question... Is it possible to have a script set the camera's focus distance to a given point? Such as the hyperfocal distance for a given aperture?

Hello all.

i tried this build: crop_rec_4k_mlv_snd_isogain_1x3_presets_EOSM2_dfort_2019Jul27.EOSM2103.zip

I found that I can't enter into ML menu if the dial on mode 2 and set custom function - trash button function (C.FnIV 6) into one of these two:
1:Depth-of-field preview
2:ISO speed

regards

I think that's to be expected, because you've remapped the function of that button? In any case, it should work if you switch to movie mode first (as a workaround).

FWIW I finally went ahead and put the latest M2 build from danne's archive on mine. I mostly wanted focus assist features for my manual lenses, and those are working just as I'd expect them to. Focus peaking, zoom when the shutter's half-pressed, etc. Thanks for the great work of getting this going!

Hi all, newbie here. I've tried reading through this thread but I think I don't know enough to follow the current state of things, so pardon my asking... Is ML stable enough on the M2 if I mainly just want to use focus peaking? Are the instabilities people mention general problems that need to be solved, or are they problems with specific ML features?

Thanks in advance, and big thanks for taking on this project!
