Can someone confirm the crop in 2.5k

is it 2.9 x 1.6? or just a 2.9 crop.

I have a 12.5 mm but it looks wider then a 58 to me.
Hi lightspeed
My video comparing 12mm on 2,5k mode(2520x1416 and 2256x1270) and 50mm on 1080 mode, both lenses with and without focal reducer.

That 25mm might be really nice for landscapes.
Hi Luther I play little with SLR Magic PL mount . Lences are not too heavy for cine lences  25 mm is wider to 25mm contax .Nice extra option on  EF-mount .For price one of Canon Sumire Cinema (fantastic lenses) you able buy decent  cine set

Nice shots. Great stuff at night. Those contax are something else. Very contrasty feeling.

Also which version of the Viltrox speed booster did you use for this @LittleBig M?

Hi DeafEyeJedi, thank you for the comment. Yes contax lenses are fantastic, I have a nice set, a mix of MM & AE  J&G
these Contax have made my others sets(Rollei,Nikon,FD,Leica R) gather dust and in past 12 months I've sold over 70 of my lenses. I Just kept Contax and Oly Zuikos and use Contax 75-80% of the time.
The Viltrox is mark EF-EOS M2, it is a Focal reducer(speedbooster).
Yes, low light and no light suprised me too. I didn't want bring any light and didn't have big expectations for it.
The daytime shots I exposed for highlights.

Sure enough you're right. Thanks for pointing that to my attention @bakersdozen!

Meant no intention to start a wild goose chase for nothing. Geez, my bad!

Sigma Art 20mm 1.4 + Viltrox Booster is gonna do wonders.

Ain't that right, @Danne? :)
Sigma Art 20mm 1.4 and Sigma Art set is a good Photo/Video option(I prefer MF lenses with longer focus and hard stop).

Hi @DeafEyeJedi I think we have deduced that there is only one version of the Viltrox booster for the Eos m now

First, thank you for sharing.
I was very surprised to see the Local ML forum and EOS M hero didn't have any comments or feedback under his video. There is lots of good info there on settings.

My favorite scenes were
The opening one
0:37-0:56
1:13
2:06-2:13

The Coloring of this video is not my particular cup of tea, but you were going for a certain style and sometimes it doesn't appeal to everyone.
The Canon 24-105mm F4 L is the most underrated L lens in my opinion and I believe it's a decent travel zoom with canon colors. The Sigma Art is newer and optically better, but it's almost 3x more expensive on the used market.

Zeek, I hope you enjoy your spring season, I have to go prepare for looong winter!

Nice clean video with only one lens!!! Mixing lights in museums is sometimes a nightmare.
I have a few questions for you Zeek.

On 50 mm f 1,2 did you use full time manual focus or did you switch to AF for assist? The 50 L has a relatively short focus is definitely not one my favs for video.

For filters you used Variable ND, CPL, and BPM 1/4. Did you use all three together at once and do all three have the same size? I'm just asking because the BPM hates any space between other filters(step up/down rings) that window shot ghosting/reflection is maybe a result of space between the BPM and other filters.

And my last question is on your ratio of usable to non-usable clips. I Aim for roughly 60-40 when using the eos m, I ask because my ratio is much lower on eos m when compared to others cameras.

Thanks for sharing your work and answering questions on this forum!

Nice one. Still has the noise from the previous, though. Are you using some LUT? There's chroma artifacts in blues on some scenes.
I like the shapness, though. The building scenes has some moire, but the sharpness is spot on. Have you tried the "anamorphic mode" in Danne's build?
Luther, Thanks for the comment ..........
Yes, lot of noise to my taste. I used the September Danne's build. I didn't use anamorphic mode or crop mode this time.
The LUT I use is Kodak Vision Daylight inspired.

That zoom out looks like from 70s movie shot on film, i know its not overexposed but i would dial down exposure in video editor so its not so washed out, color info is still in the footage but with raw you can dial it down to get better contrast, not too much tho cause that highlight rolloff is nice .

2blackbar, Thanks for the comment
I'll keep it in mind for next time :)

Much better. What software did you use? Converting from MLV to DNG will take no effect on image quality.
Adobe Raw DNG to Tiff 16bit
Photopshop Tiff denoise  resize denoise  and sharpening ( made  action  run Automate Batch)
After Effect Tiff   export  prores 4444 + H264 youtube

Just quick test  .

Nothing wrong with your mlvapp settings... I think you just underexposed too much, so your noise is popping more. Or EOS M just has a bad ISO performance compared to Fuji, who knows.Yeah, I'll see if I can get one of these. Do you suggest 1/4 or 1/8? I'm worried 1/4 will be too strong for most situations...

Maybe Dng is better ops for low light.....
For BPM filter 1/8 and 1/4 are pretty close .Try 1/8  Depends on lenses ,camera .
