as always, amazing danne.

thank you so much.

Which is mostly fine apart from not being able to dial in the perfect 1/50 shutter with fine tuning in the 8 bit preset mode.

I've got an older build from july last year which allows me to do 25fps, 1/50 shutter and 3.0x bitrate. I'll just stick that on another card like zeek said. Was hoping to keep it all on one card but it's a small price to pay for the amazing stuff you guys have been doing.

Thanks

Also, one more question if you don't mind.

Is it possible to add the bit rate options into these builds? I'm planning on doing some raw recording, but still need to do the odd h264 things here and there.

thanks

Thanks for the help danne.

It does indeed jump to 25 when I hit record.

So is set 25fps part of the raw video or crop rec too? Is shutter fine tuning also limited/disabled in h264? I can only get 1/52 at the moment. No problem if thats the case, its close enough.

Cheers,
Dan

Hi all.

I am using the Jan 14th 2020 build. Its great apart from a couple of small issues I am having with not being able to use 25fps and seeing focus pixels in h264 footage.

I am able to reset the config and turn off raw video and get the right 25fps and shutter settings (with fine tuning and locking), but I see focus pixels in my h264 footage.

If I use the h264 8bt preset by tapping the screen, then it seems to remove the focus pixels issue but the fps jumps to 29.973 and the set 25fps settings doesn't seem to have any effect.

Does anyone have any advice here? Any register tweaking I could try?

1120x1900 when set to 16:9
Above mode becomes 1064x1800 when bitdepth is set to 12bit.

ah just saw your reply too. :) cheers danne.

I'm on 7th June build and 4k anamorphic mode at 16:9 gives a res of 1064x1975. I could only get that resolution (1064x1800) when setting the aspect ratio to 5:3. Did something change between builds?

Never mind, i seem to be getting good results with setting the ratio to 1:2 in raw vid module and 16:9 in crop rec. I get 1120x1900 which expands to 3360x1900 which i guess is '4k'.

here's a few clips, 4k anamorphic, only changed aspect ratio to 16:9 and set 25fps, 1064x1800 resized to 4k, very "clean" videos only selected 3x3 smooth in mlvapp and it was ready to go, @Danne where's the aliasing now? :)
watch in 2k or 4k resolution

I like that 4k anamorphics 16:9, I was trying to do something like that myself the other night.

Is there a definitive list somewhere of what the differences are between the different crop_rec modes? I know that mv1080p is 3x3 binning and anamorphic is 1x3 binning but I don't fully understand all the modes and what exactly they do (ie what do 4k anamorphic and 5k anamorphic do differently?). If I haven't searched properly in this thread then please point me in the right direction.

hi danne, that june 07 file doesn't seem to be in the downloads section yet :)

I'll be happy to give it a whirl as soon as its up though.

Yes the canon menu does refresh the res, but after a second or so it jumps back to the 1800x1012 res. In the 4th June build that doesn't happen but it has the preview crops display height thingy.

Something I noticed that changed between the 2nd June and 4th June builds.

2nd June MCM rewire 16:9, the max res is 1800x1012 when I thought it should be 1736x976
4th June the res goes back to what it should be but the live view preview shows wrong for resolutions that aren't the max 1736x976. The crop goes in from the side but the full height remains until you lower it to around 1392x794 and then the top starts cropping. but it looks like the wrong aspect ratio.

Keep up the good work danne and everyone. I'm very much enjoying this community and the amazing results.

Thanks

Thanks Danne, I noticed the 3x crop startup issue too. Downloading the new build now. I only recently got back into ML after being away for a few years (having kids takes up your life man).

Anyways, my dormant EOS-M has now noy only been given new life but is one of the best cameras out there now that is has usable raw video. 1080 MCM rewire is my go now :)

Thanks so much. Really appreciate it.
