EDIT:  Just now I noticed that its not just the ISO.   I was filming in manual mode with it and the saw the aperture move as well.  I think it is being forced into full auto mode regardless of where the dial is positioned.   The smaller display on the top goes blank when I hit record.

Hi beauchampy,

Thanks for chiming in.   Mine is the video micro so there is no battery or adjustments on that mic.   I did try and change the level inside the canon settings, but it has no effect.

I am able to get a reasonable volume if I boost the digital gain, but for me that's not really any different the bringing it up in post as far as quality.

I'm kind of wandering now if it may be a problem with the mic/camera combo.   I didn't have this mic before magic lantern so IDK if it worked without ML or not and have no other camera to try it with.

Hi Gang,

Tonight I took some videos and I noticed now that I have ML installed on my 5D once I hit the video mode I get basically a "forced auto ISO"    I am in manual mode but once I start the video ISO changes to what ever the camera wants, is there a way to turn that off?

Thanks
Matt

General Help Q&A / Audio levels too low?
April 26, 2017, 04:56:15 AM
Hi everyone,

I'm using ML on my 5DII with a Rode video micro and sometimes a lav mic.    I have cranked the analog gain up as high as it will go in ML and still my audio levels are only about half what they need to be.  No where near peaking.   I can jump them up to 200% in post and still not peak at all.

Is there some way around this?  Before I installed ML, just using the canon software I had the exact opposite problem I had to turn the db level down to like 2 clicks above off to keep from peaking.

Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone,

I am new to Magic Lantern, but just want to say how amazing it is.   So many great features.  Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed to the project!

I have question about using the FPS override in my 5dII.    I was able to get it working.   I changed the frame rate to 12 or 12.5 maybe and it does record in double time.  However rather than making one continuous movie it takes about 10 seconds worth of video, stops and then restarts again, making a whole bunch of those little short vids.    Also during the first couple of seconds the image is very dark, and then it starts to "lighten up" as if auto ISO is on or something, but I am shooting in manual mode.

What am I doing wrong? How can I fix this?

Thanks in advance.
