Following the aforementioned, copyright will protect only the computer program in the form written by a programmer i.e. its source code. Neither the functionality of a computer program, nor the programming language nor the format of data files used in a computer program in order to exploit certain of its functions constitute a form of expression of that program, and thus these are not protected by copyright.

it's often called "Pre-Trigger" "loop recoding" after you press the shutter it will save let say 5sec before the event + 5sec after.
It can have pre-trigger and post-trigger, some cameras call it loop recording too. (mostly loop recording it' means after the memory is at the end it will start from the start again.

I have the same feeling like on mobile phone when you pressing the shutter button on the display but it's f*king slowww on reaction and you miss the key moment because the OperatingSystem (android or iOS) is lag mode.
I simply prefer the feeling :)

I share your opinion too.

Canon Just released a Firmware V1.1.1 for R5 and R6

Be aware of possible lock down on my hack finding last Sunday.
Even if I think it will be a very fast answer to roll out a firmware in only 3 days, that's still a possibility.

At least, it may be able to do a file comparison between V1.1.0 et V1.1.1 to see what changed is any.

Thats the reason that I asked on the first post about this issue.

Do you know that 99% all the cameras have a max limit of card storage that they accept.

Someone posted to EOSHD forum that they didn't need a dummy battery or a door closed hack to reset the timer. I can't confirm the test of the regular battery pull on the EOS R6. No matter how many times I try, the overheating light never goes away (even when I take it out super quickly). I have to use a dummy battery or a "battery door close trick hack."

I can confirm this hack on EOS R6. Set date +1 day, then battery disconnect, turn camera back on, date -1 day does work. The timer has officially been reset and I am able to have clips saved on at the correct time.

I was actually at the beach filming 4K 60fps all day. Of course I got the overheating warning but this hack has so far been able to practically save my life haha!

Firmware version?

I found crazy that the RTC is a dedicated chip place in the middle of nothing and so easy to access.
I have a simple question.
The RTC holds the time and day and can be access by the I2C bus. Either to program the time and the alarm and countdown.
But when a alarm is set up, Pin 6 is the IRQ line. Usually, the IRQ adk the processor to check what is happening by reading the I2C.

Is simply cutting the pin 6 signal enough for not triggering the IRQ signal and shoot forever? (and keep time of the day and date active?)

You need to have this pin a High level with a pull up resistor linked to pin 8 if it's not already the case (low level is IRQ Active)

Thanks for the info & your time that you invested.

it's simple.

listen  buy a used 5D markIII with low shutter count, if you gona use it just for video then shutter count is so not important.
if you gonna record (static) on tripod then 24-105mm is verygood lens, if you think to walk with it then use some prime lens, use light lenses 50mm 1.8, 40mm pancake, 85mm etc.

buy a used or better broken lens 24-105mm if you have just few skils to open the lens and to change the diaphragm part.

Okay, new plan.
I decide to learn how to use altium designer and make a PCB board for this.
No more stupid fly wires.

Thumb up!

General Chat / Re: Canon DSLR line is dead
July 22, 2020, 12:45:40 AM
We can say that in prosumer market we will see less DSLR, but in 1D serie and Nikon D(x) we will still see them in pro segment, specially in sport&action.
From my point of view if you are doing sport and general fast moving subjects the mirrorless camera is slow for transmitting the full resolution picture on the EVP.

Simply I cant catch a 100% frame that I am sure that I got it.

I think that we could see in near future a pro line body like Canon Pellix a 45deg. SLR for faster shoots and quieter shooting.
The loos of light of 1/3 is not a problem in todays war of ISO & MP.

  • Canon made the Pellix 45 years ago, a 35mm SLR. It, too, used a semi-transparent, or pellicle mirror, allowing faster, quieter shooting. The mirror was made from silvered Mylar-film, the stuff used to make carnival balloons, and sent two thirds of the light to the film and one-third to the viewfinder, resulting in a dark finder and the loss of 1/3-stop of light for the picture. Also, the mirror would deteriorate over time, growing dirtier and dimmer.

The M50 sensor is too slow to do this. You need 2x more data to read a dual pixel. So maybe at 10-15 FPS?
At the current stage of development, we should not think about such advanced features.

But for sure FHD with DAF could be possible.

I dont think it's a big deal because 95% you don't get in touch with moire in general work, just time to time 2-3%
Afcourse it's good for the consumer but it's not a break deal.

He didn't say the Raw recording resolution and FPS. Probably 1920x1080 24fps at 10-bit.
The price of this camera will be very high.
Dunno, more excited about Sigma FP.

Give a look @ Z-CAM http://www.z-cam.com/e2-f6/

I found how to figure out shutter counts for 5dc, it works on my camera but still not doubled checked on a second body.
Don't ask for posting more explanations about, no chances at the moment, at least until it's sure won't hurt ML community....

You can send me PM and I can check it on my 5D classic, no problem.

This is funny from my point of view. In general A.I. is intensive on power...

Hi,

I'm documenting the CR3 format here : https://github.com/lclevy/canon_cr3
Any CR3 capable model with continuous model can help, please.

12bits in continuous mode has been discussed in this thread, that's why I'm asking here.

Kind regards

Laurent

No problem, send me your contacts over PM, I will create the files for you.
