Yes! I like the context menu idea!
It aligns with the current implementation. In de "my menu" or "custom menu" tab the context menu can have the "remove from my menu" instead of "add to my menu". The last three entries would be obsolete in the "my menu" context, instead options to change the position could be added.

Additional notes:
- If the subsubmenus are not abandoned , it would be great to have subsubmenu items e.g. contrast or HTP to be added to the "my menu" tab without the hierarchy above that item, this would result in quicker access to that function.
- A structural reconsideration with the 5DIII menu in mind would -in my humble opinion- of much less importance and a lot more work.

I agree with Rehaan. I shoot still pictures in non_LV manual mode. A challenge can be I partially clouded day when sun and clouds alternate quickly.
I have a canon 60. It has such a function, on the wheel,  I find it  not so usable for this purpose (you have to dig in the menu to save the current setting to dthe ). Better would be a key that switches between presets (and saving it on the background).

Yes, this would help me a lot. Let me elaborate:
The main reason I use magic lantern is because it provides easier access to functions I use.
I primarily make non-LV still images. All SOOC (Straight out of Camera). Examples of very much used functions are WB Kelvin and WBShift; contrast and saturation.
The november 2011 versions had most of these functions less clicks away. Now most of the mentioned are hidden farther away in the menu structure. For me, with my workflow, this feels like a step backward.

It would be greatly appreciated if there was a favorite menu tab where I could collect these functions, even when they are hidden in submenus.

I guess with so many different kind of users (and different requirements) this would be a solution for different workflows also.

If you doubt between the canon 50 mm 1.4 or 1.8, choose the 1.8.
The price difference isn't worth it. I own the 1.4, and have owned the 1.8. At 1.4 the sharpness is not that good, and I find the quality very similar at the other apertures. 1.8 is a bit louder, when using autofocus. Sharpness of the 1.8 is very good for that price, especially at F/8; at which you will shooting when your aim is portraits or landscapes.

My experience with canon 28-135 IS; I just got rid of it, very disappointed with it.
