Raw Video / problems with RAW in 650d
November 09, 2016, 11:02:03 AM
hello everyone..
i have playing around trying out the Magic Lantern software.. and wanted to try some raw video both with the raw module and with the MLV module @ 720.. problem is that my system crashed everytime after about around a minute..  first i though it was because i didnt have a good enough card.. FujiFilm Ultra Performance SD HC so now i upgraded to a  SAMSUNG PRO SDXC that clames 90mb/s read 80mb/s write.. but still no change.. my Canon 650d still runs clunky.. skipping frames and then eventually stopping..  what can bee the problem? im using Nightly.2016May16.650D104

Hello everybody am new here to this for and using ml..I decided to try it on my 650d.. im having some problems and questions after reading through the forum.
For legacy raw I using raw2dng and pinkdotremover this works fine..to make a usable video I was tinkering around with the dng2avi script of using uraw-batch to convert to jpg, and  then ffmpg. To make the fim.. the problem with this is that the jpgs. That come are pink / magenta.. so I am using dark table to color grade before exporting... a question to this is is there a way to make a command line script for dark table ?
Also next problem is mlv! The mlv_dump doesn't compile for me in Linux neither the mlvrawviewer..so I must use wine versions..the mlv_dump with wine functions to make a raw and then I use the same raw workflow as above... but the wine mlvrawviewer doesn't take away pinkdots and the dngs they produced can't be opened by dark table..also Linux version crashes with GL error.
Any advice?

I am having problems to use this.. the Python for like Linux crashes with a gl error
And when I use wine for the windows version.. the dots don really go away..and the dng. Files are pink!?

hello  everyone..

i have had a t4i (650D) for some years now just using the stock firmware... i decided to finally try out the ML firmware.. but it is really blowing my mind out..
i have watched a few youtube videos about some modulues.. but still would like to know more information about what every option does.. and how to best use what parameters etc...
also  another question is about RAW video.. what is the diffrence bewteen the normal Raw module and the MLV module..  anybody using here RAW on the 650d? i have been trying to use MLrawreader and Pinkdot remover but with no luck only errors and crashes.. i am using Linux Debian sid 64bits!
any comments questions etc would be helpful.
