In your opinion, trolls are all Canon customers who want a 2000€ for good camera for 2017 and not a huge flop that has performance as 4-5 year old cameras, while in competition, man has the same money equipments corresponding to 2017? Why the basic ASPC Nikon DSLR camera have much more dynamic range than the Canon 6D Mark II FF for 2000 € in 2017?

Whether I ask - according to Canon, landscape photographer uses ISO 320 24/7 to achieve the desired dynamic range as a competitor (SONY / NIKON / FUJI / PENTAX ...) with ISO 100?. Think about that...

I wanted to invest in Canon 6D Mark II as a transition to FF, but with such parameters and that landscape photographers take ISO 320 on the day to achieve a good dynamic range - it's a tragedy.

Good day. I would like to ask what you think of the new CANON 6D Mark2. I would very much like to take a look at landscape photography at ISO 320+ for a decent dynamic range of 13.2 in 2017 than any competing brand. In my opinion Canon 6D Mark II it's  a huge flop, tragedy and nonsense to introduce Canon 6D Mark2 with a dynamic range equal to the Canon 700D, which is 4 years old camera.

So, according to Canon's logic, this means that every photographer will use Canon 6D Mark II at the ISO 320 to have the same dynamic range as any other camera brands (Sony / Nikon / Fuji / Pentax) at ISO 100 in the middle of a sunny day?

Are there at least some advantages when the basic ISO will be 320 when used with Dual-ISO?

It looks very good. Additional software recommendations for focus brackets? I recommend affordable Affinity Photo software for merging and editing in MacPhun Luminar / AuroraHDR to maximize dynamic range.

Does this script work together with Dual-ISO, HDR and AutoETTR?

@oeci

The latest firmware is working fine but it needs more testers and feedback on the pull request. You can get a test build from my bitbucket download page.

Looks like the latest build posted is magiclantern-Nightly.2017Feb08.700D115.zip. Anything new in unified that affects the 700D that should be merged for testers?

Good day. I have to say that after a long time, when I once again put the chance of ML due to a startrails / milkiway photography, so the version for the current, the latest canon firmware works ok.

Please, you should approach this according to the development plan of the whole product and focus on best parts. Everyone who will come explore magic lantern do so because of ability to encrease dynamic range using dual-iso, that is still not finished properly. More like a toy than professional instrument. Its sad that programmers who developed this do not wish to optimize this for production use.

My recommendation:

Optimize and finalize dual-iso (without loosing resolutions and details) as format for ML platform with dynamic range boost. With that use AutoETTR system for dual-iso  (as replacement for HDR Bracketing) - Dual-iso as native format of the Magic Lantern firmware.

Integrate various modules from other developers on the forum directly to the Magic Lantern - great one is Focus Stacking + Autofocus + Intervalometer.

Along with that please consider usage and planning of modules emulation in runtime to view results from dual-iso. Eventually Android app which can view this as Android app is connected.

In case you would be able to finish this during one year, which is no problem for other dev teams, Magic Lantern would become good firmware for normal use, not 30 unusable experiments.

Have a nice day ;)

Yes.. I need maximum details :D LOL...

- Less details and sharpeness on black/shadows areas of these photos. It's like blur or something... - under the castle and second photo - in the dark/shadow areas...

Hi... and any new performance update for blacks/highlites/shadows?
#9
Dual ISO with actual performance is not good for any types of hobby or professional photography... This "massive dr improvments" is like "massive miss of the best shots" I want the best performance as possible from my gear (EOS 700D) and with Dual-ISO is like lottery for few geeks. Not for hobby enthusiastic photographers or... professionals.

Hi! I have 2 questions:
1:
Is possible to combinate Canon Highlight Tone Priority mode with Dual ISO for max DR?

2:
And... is there any new improvments  with shadows/highlites/blacks without loosing details and informations? - It's really BIG FAIL

I dont really care about compiling code... I'm not a geek dude :D I'm hobby photographer... :D

I want a final product not code :D Photographing is about PHOTOGRAPHY NOT  ABOUT PROGRAMING ANYTHING...  LOL

Hi!

Any ideas to add Auto-Exposure Calculation in bulb mode for Very Long Exposure ND 2000?

AWESOME!!! DREAMS COME TRUE!!! <3 BIG LIKE!!!

Bring it to the next build of magic lantern instalation native :)  :) :) :) :)

No.  Advanced Bracket  with Dual-iso doesn't work.

I want bracket Dual-ISO files after convert to .dng  (Dark/Bright version together) like this one:

With more different Ev in dual-iso files (more Dual-ISO shots wit different Ev with AutoETTR settings) like Advanced HDR bracketing. - I love Dual-iso for better dynamic range and colors, shades, etc...

Hello,

I'm using dual-iso + AutoETTR modes in Magic Lanten and Canon 700D (THANKS GOD FOR DUAL-ISO!!!). When I try to merge the images Dual-ISO files with classical raw files (AutoETTR) together using AuroraHDR, it fails with message about wrong resolution in one of the pictures. LR HDR doesn't work either. I'm converting cr2 files to dng same problem with dual-iso dng + AutoETTR classical raw files/dng

files:

Errors:

Do you know what might be wrong?

I have AutoETTR on Auto mode. Can you tell me what are the best settings in AutoETTR so that dual iso makes as many different Ev images (Dark / Bright) as possible? How to make focus-stacking dual-iso shots?

What settings to use for always on dual-iso so that it makes as many Ev shots as possible (or Dark/Light shots)? Would it be possible to add a feature to dual-iso to do more Dark+Light shots automatically with different Ev - LIKE ADVANCED HDR ?

I really LOVE MAGIC LANTERN + DUAL- ISO!! :)

Please bring diagonal cropmark for  more dynamic compositions :)

Hello,

It was my first time working with the ND 1000 filter for use in Magic Lantern firmware. My goal was bracketing (HDR / LDR) - long exposure photography. I went out to try it during a beautiful sunny day and I used ND 1000 VFFOTO (CZ brand) with following settings: Manual Mode, autoexposure, advanced bracketing, bulb timer 15minutes. It was all working fine, but I found out, that when using Canon Remote RC6, the magic lantern bulb timer gets turned off. Canon EOS 700D + 18-55 STM Lens.

Would it be possible to modify the Bulb Timer option, so it works with external remote control?  ;)

Many thanks,

I wish you a good day. I would like to ask why the use of bracketing causes problems after 4th photo. Used camera - Canon EOS 700D with Canon 18-55mm STM lens can not focus and makes blurred pictures.

Good day. This view of the developments and in particular usability for a wide base of users is considerably limited. Tools for dual ISO on OSX El Capitan is completely unusable - Turning off System protection of the integrity and copying files into hidden system folders is very unsafe and something like this is not acceptable to do for professional users and photographers. Dual ISO is revolutionary technology with perfect results, but at current stage is is toy for programmers rather than professional tool due this limitation. Maybe joining with larger software studio would attract more users as this can became part of for instance with Aurora HDR by McPhun could be mutually beneficial. You would have a stable platform that could be recommended to professionals that need to work with dual ISO files.

Hello. Your Magic Lantern is a perfect tweak for Canon. When used on Canon EOS 700D I thought I used a new camera. Please would it be possible to cooperate with MacPhun and direct support in their new application for bracketing photoshots - Aurora HDR - http://aurorahdr.com/ for direct support your dual iso files and compilated Dual ISO shots???

Please!!! :)

Hello. Your Magic Lantern is a perfect tweak for Canon. When used on Canon EOS 700D I thought I used a new camera. Please would it be possible to create GUI support for Photos APP on OSX EI Capitan as you have it created for Lightroom? Or cooperate with MacPhun and direct support in their new application for bracketing photoshots - Aurora HDR - http://aurorahdr.com/ for direct support your dual iso files and compilated Dual ISO shots. Also is there a possibility for iOS/Android mobile application?
