Great, thank you very much @Upstep!

Guys, what settings would you recommend for shooting video with an 2x anamorphic adapter in front of the EOS M?

Looking for 1:1 or 4:3 in-camera aspect ratio, tops.

The new 1x3 pixel binning looks gorgeous, but I can't use 2.35:1, since after anamorphic desqueeze it'll turn into a terrifying 4.7:1

Regards.

This makes me miss my 7D.

Love the music track; well-suited for the images.
All in all - very captivating.

Love the non-HDR, natural look and your coloring taste, Kidfob.
Great use of the dual iso.

Mind sharing camera specs?

Great use of sound effects, wonderful shots - love the peacefulness.
Did you apply some kind of post stabilizer, though? Sometimes some choppiness can be observed.

And the slow mo: your workflow seems to be miraculous - I couldn't notice any aliasing.
The final effect is superb.

Wish you good luck.
Keep it up!

Wow!
So the oldie 7D can go a little faster than the suggested 80MB/s in the ML RAW Capacities charts.
No point in saving money on CF card, then.

Thank you very, very much.

If so, is there any sense in buying Lexar 1066x over Lexar 1000x for my 7D?
I understand 1066x has slightly better write and read speeds, but almost all benchmarks are made using 5D3, which also has higher write limits.

My point is: will 7D benefit from choosing 1066x at all?

I'm aware 1000x is no longer produced, though sometimes still available at the market.
I can get 32GB 1000x in the price of 16GB 1066x.

Thanks.

Nothing.

I'm returning it, then.

Thanks for your time.

Thanks for the quick reply. I really appreciate it.

Sadly, it didn't help.
Downloaded the TS29 driver from Transcend site, installed it, re-plug the card reader and tried to format the card - still: 'Windows was unable to complete format.'

Hello there.

I've recently bought a used Komputerbay 1066x 64GB CF card for my 7D.

After receiving it, I checked whether previous user left something on it and voila: there it was, Magic Lantern files.  Quite a surprise.
Nevertheless, I thought I should format it.

But then I got: 'Windows was unable to complete format.'

And I can't do anything to change it. Unticking 'Quick format' doesn't help, nor does pushing the 'Restore device defaults'.
All files on the card are 'Read Only' and unticking it, clicking 'Apply' then 'OK' somehow doesn't work at all. They're still 'Read Only'. I can delete them using 'Shift+Del' - they disappear. Click 'Refresh' and there they are, again. Nothing changed.
I've tried using diskpart's commands: 'clean' and 'clean all'. According to it everything went succesful, but all the files are still there.
Formatting via the camera doesn't come up with any problems, though the card seems intact.

Neither can I copy anything to it. Just like with deleting, the item appears on the card but after refreshing - it's gone.
The same story with taking photos with it - after shooting, they appear in 'Preview'. But restart the camera - nothing there.

I ran CrystalDiskMark via PC and got admirable write and read speeds - but what for?

I'm using this card reader: click connected to a USB 3.0 port.

It seems like it's in a permament 'Read Only' state.

Is there anything I can do?
Or just simply return it?

Thanks for any help,
Cheers from Poland.

Amazing results. Dig the dynamic range in the bonfire scene.

It'd be nice if you shared some information about recording (camera/ML settings/modules used/etc).

Cheers!

Raw Video / Re: How to record 2K Raw video on a 50D?
November 17, 2015, 11:18:29 PM
You won't be able to record 2k with 50D no matter what you do, unfortunately.
To achieve resolution higher than 1584x1008 you have to enter crop mode.

Take a look at this:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/16cgnRivbUv7nA9PUlCLmLdir3gXdIN3pqzCNAAybepc/edit#gid=5

The bottom text line is a bit stange, however. Especially after taking into account your CF card - it should handle it more than 720p easily.

Nice results; I don't see any twixtor's warping artifacts at all.
Is it also 650D?
Mind sharing specs, too?
#17
Wow!
You mean you recorded 1728*736 mlv_raw at 48 fps and still got 4-5 seconds of footage (which after slowing down gives you 8-10s)?

Comparing it to 5/6 secs of 1536*636 at 24 fps on my former 600D.. Wow. I'm out of words..
Just can't believe it. I wasn't aware that 650D was that good.

Superb! The VAF does a good job.

Would you mind sharing the detailed specs?
Resolution, enabled modules? Global Draw? How many seconds were you able to record?

Moire is quite noticeable (look at the woman's scarf), but other than that - great.
May come in handy.

Truly amazing.
Something new, fresh.
