Raw Video Postprocessing / Re: Salvaging Pink Crazy DNGs

I feel like I'm close to fixing my clips but am getting hung up on a couple things....

1) First, open the non-corrupt file with the hex editor and copy the footer. At least in my case, it was about the same length of the one posted here. I recognized it because, as the example posted here, it started with: "52 41 57 4D"
How do I find the footer if it doesn't start with "52 41 57 4D"?

5) Replace the position in the footer with the correct hex number you now have and paste the footer in the end of your corrupt file.
The previous posts explain the right place to put it, the 13th position (there must be a better term for this) in the footer.
Am I alway replacing the 13th position with the Hexadecimal determined by Step 3 and 4 in Dareios post?

I get the scrambled pink frames for the first 871 frames of the clip and then it's black for the rest.

I'm trying to wrap my head around what they're saying. What does "12 lines x 16 bytes per line" mean?
QuoteWhat worked for me, was to copy the last 192 bytes (eg. 12 lines x 16 bytes per line; begins with RAWM as seen in the ASCII column) of a file from the same camera shot at the same resolution, and append it to the damaged file, replacing any final truncated line.

This is what my RAW file looks like in Hex Fiend

Also where does the python script come into the play? Is it something I'm supposed to download?

Post-processing Workflow / python script

Anyone know how to use Baldand's python script on a Mac to recover corrupt clips without footers?

I'm not sure where to download it or what to do with it once I have it.

Unfortunately neither of those programs worked.

I believe the problem is that the clip didn't add a footer to close out the clip because I ran out of space on the CF card. I've been digging through the forums and while there seems to be a solution, I'm not quite understanding how to do it on a Mac for 7D footage. Most of the posts I'm seeing are from 2013 so is it possible that there's a program that automatically fixes them without me having to go into a Hex editor and manually do it?

Post-processing Workflow / incomplete RAW clips

I'm trying to transcode a RAW clip in RAWMagic and CR2HDR and neither seem to work.

RAWMagic says that
"No Files Added - No files were added to the queue. Make sure all of your files are in the proper format. If you're trying to add a spanned sequence, you must add all the files in the sequence at once".

Unfortunately, I don't have additional files to add (.R00, .R01, etc)

CR2HDR just doesn't do anything. There is no error message given.

The file size is 3.16 gb so something is there. Can I salvage it?

Post-processing Workflow / Corrupt frames on long clips

I am receiving corrupt frames on long clips when shooting RAW. The kicker is that I'm using RawMagic and Terminal between my Macbook and iMac, and the corrupt frames never occur at the same time.

That means the error must be on the transcoding end and not on the RAW file itself, correct?

Raw Video / 1080p RAW on 7D

Just installed ML on my 7D. I'm having issues setting the resolution to 1920x1080 in RAW mode. It's saying that 1728x972 is the largest resolution possible. Any ideas why?
