Hey Walter,

I suppose I may have missed a step.

To get rid of the

Scanning modules...
Saving config...

box, I had to go into my Canon menu and on the firmware option, I had to ok the current 2.1.2-ml-Nightly.2. Update, and then it took a few seconds and told me to restart my camera.

Were back in action now!

Thanks!

With the latest nightly build, I'm getting a

Scanning modules...
Save configs...

Box in the bottom corner of my live view.

What is this and how can I get it to disappear?

Thanks for the reply. Should I also add 5D2_212.fir ?

I've been using ML for a few months now, and I am usually very cautious about removing photos using EOS utility, because it auto selects ML files.

After downloading some pics yesterday, my camera is useless with the card in.

The ML folders are still on the card, but they appear empty.

Should I remove these files and re upload ML to the card?

Whats the process?

Thanks

Hey guys,

I'm really interested in using Magic Lantern for a number of reasons.

I installed it to my camera and used it for a good twenty minutes or so, turning the camera off and on without issue. I was loving all of the great features for video, and I was getting ready for a shoot the next day, so I was really pumped up.

About an hour later, I went to turn my camera on, and it was dead. A totally "OMFG what have I done" moment.

I stayed up learning what to do about it, and found that changing cards and taking out the battery worked to get my camera back, but now what about my memory card?

How do I remove the software from the camera properly if the camera's a brick with that card in it?

Thanks in advance.

I put magic lantern on my 5Dm2 and it worked, until I turned it off, and tried to turn it on again. My camera was completely dead. I had a shoot the next day so I stayed up all night trying to find a solution. I changed the card and pulled the battery, then retried. Ahhh, thank god! But now, my 16G card is useless and I cannot reformat it because my camera is a brick with it in. Any solutions? Much appreciated!
