Does anyone know how and if it is possible to create a picture style that converts the images to a negative?  I am using my camera to make digital copies of a 35mm negative and want the camera to automatically convert the image to a positive.

Magic lantern ---  image effects under the movie menu has a setting ,im sure of that.

Depends on what you want to film to be honest... it is SUPER wide.

ming apart from sports etc I guess.

If I had my time again I'd probably buy the Sigma 10-22 instead, a little more expensive but useful in a LOT more situations.

Ty for writing all that .Nice video !,Me and you on the same page creatively I want it for bboy .yes that is super  wide, that lense .Ive the canon 10-22 mm its a super useful lens.Is the cine version of the samyang much diff ?.

550D

Using the 2-23 nightly and cannot get the greyed out menus to come on.  You hit the menu and get the junkie menu and go over the top of what you want to activate then hit menu again with no changes made.

Is there a new method I missed?

the canon menu isn't switched im trying to figure out how to do this .its in the manual somewhere.

I have all the samyang lenses, and this is one of my favs. It's a pretty good lens, perfect for video, and for shooting too, in my opinion. a little bit soft wide open (but every lens is), but if you close down just a bit is extremely sharp, and it's perfect for 360panos too. Definitively a good buy ;)

thanks Man, thats i needed to know cheers :-).

Anyone have this ?. Is it good for video making. I hear its alittle soft for stills , love to get some feedback please.

Is it  a new SD card ?, if so it could be incompatible with the ML .Try format card and retry.

Well said Malcolm ,the footage even from 550D is awesome.

Thanks Guys ,Nice responses .Nope I can't afford a mk3 thats way above my budget because this is a hobby not a paid project. L lenses are real expensive and to get the best of the FF dslr  will need to buy L lenses. Netherless the 550D is a fine enough camera I'm very happy with it. especially with the addition of magic lantern software.

Is it a standard sd card because I find the sdhc cards flakey ?. I also think Transcend cards arent the best cards tom use with the ML software.

General Help Q&A / Re: LUA builds
December 23, 2012, 01:38:47 PM
I had flickering on the magic zoom window so I loaded the nightly build on a seperate 16 gb card. It hasnt fixed the issue but there some nice extra options there so I'll keep it. Yes just extract the build to a new (or existing ) card make sure your autoexec bat is there and ML copy any custom stuff you may have like cropmarks . If yu run into issues pop the original sd card in to verify the camera.

Thanks  Guys.

It is a more expensive option definitely and I'm probably better off staying on the crop sensor dslrs for the moment. Yup bboy photography is a tough pitch it's so fast and unpredictable but I really have the edge over people who have the equipment because I know exactly what the venues are going to be like, and the mindset of the dancer and understand the flow.I also have bboy feedback which will help me  tp get better shots.

Happy Christmas

Glad to know it was helpful, did you decide what you'll get next ?

I'd say a 6D now  cause the 5d mark 2 is old hat now really technology has moved on a lot since then . I also need an optimum low light setup because that's where I do the majority of my stuff.

I've a 550 D ,the build quality is fine . If you're used to a 7D ,it will feel like junk much in the same way if you drive a ferrari ,you wont be impressed by a Ford. The kit lense isn't a great choice as it's very soft. Of course it's usuable for a scene or two (for variety) but i wouldn't recommend shooting all day with it because  of that reason .I used one once on a video and the footage was useless. Plus if you're indoors at a car show the environment is a low light environment in places. I video and shoot indoors at bboy competitons and I swear by the 50 mm lense 1.8. I recently got a 1.4 and i personally don't buy lenses over aperture of 3 because I don't have the luxury of artificial light to help me.

This video explains perfectly why a kit lens is not a good choice in low light situations.

I get a lot of static like interference and it annoying cause it ruining my shoot.

[ SOLVED ]

MY problem was somehow wjen I reinstalledn ML .  Cartoon was switched on in image effects under movie menu. This gave the impression of a noisy screen.
