I am running Yosemite 10.10.4 and just ran up MIRawViewer V1.4.3 and loaded a raw video. Was able to view and export (as a MOV).
So it looks as if it is not a general ops system issue. Would suggest you delate the MIRViewer version you have a re-download in case there is a corruption.

barepixels,

I did check in Lightroom to confirm before I posted, that is where I got the idea to delete the odd frames as I am shooting time lapse.

ayshih,

Thanks for the links. Yes it would appear that what I am seeing is the 5D2 and low FPS bug. Should I raise a bug report?

Just took a short time laps with MLV and that appears to work OK.

I am getting something similar to William.
I tried out RAW video on my 5d MK2. Running Nightly 2014AUG02.
The setup was .5 frame a second 1728x972.
What I see is the first frame repeated after each new frame.
So if we have a picture of the letter A as the fist image captured the sequence when viewed looking at the dng files would be Letter A, New Image, Letter A, next image etc etc.
I have used both RAW2DNG and MLVMysticV05Beta to convert the RAW file to DNG. I then view the DNG files with MIRawViwer.
Although I have not tried as this is time laps it looks as if I could just delete alternate DNG files and get a viewable video.
I have gone through the sequence of reseting the boot flag, reseting the camera using the Canon menu, formatting the card, reinstalling the Nightly then reinstalling ML.
Have not tried going back to an older nightly yet.
Any ideas?

Thanks,

Ian L

Replying to ayshih,

The camera is a 500D, which probably is not up to the task.

Replying to ayshih.

Overlooked entering LV. But when I do enter LV I can record raw but, the dual ISO option remains greyed out on the Expo menu although I can select a recover ISO value by selection the Q button.

On the Expo menu White balance is Auto, ISO 100 Shutter set to 1/38 Aperture set to 5.6 Expo. Override ON.

I have noticed that the number of modules available has decresed on a number of recent nightly builds.
Looking at the 500D for example.
The 18th of July list 14 modules but the 29th July list only 10.
The mlv_ modules and the dot_tune have gone.
Also the silent.mo has reverted to a version before the full resolution change which was available in the 18th build.
It there an issue with these modules, i.e. they failed to build overnight?
Would it be safe to copy the missing modules from a previous version, i.e. the 18th to the 29th?
I think I know the answer to the second question would be NO but wanted to check.

Thanks

I wanted to try video HDR on my 500d.
I have viewed a number of videos on line but they show what must be an old version of ML as they have an HDR option under the video tab.
I  am currently running the nightly build for the 18th of July 2014 and have tried to get dual ISO working with video.
I have set up RAW video under the movie tab. I have selected dual ISO and set 2 ISO speeds.
I have set the switch to movie, but although dual ISO is selected it is grayed out and there is a message saying
Dual ISO only works in RAW for movie. Have I missed something or is there an issue with RAW video and dual ISO.

Thanks

Sc0Bee. You are right, mind blown, now trying to find the pieces. The camera is capturing silently away great. Will try some outdoor shots hopefully tomorrow.

dmilligan. Thanks for that tip.

Midphase. Thanks, I had gone down the time lapse photography route but I did not like the idea of the shutter going every few seconds and wearing out  in days rather than years. The  silent mode pointed to by ScOBee looks to be the answer.

Thanks for all getting back to me.

A New user of Magic Lantern. I have spent some time reading and searching the forum and got a lot of useful information but I have been unable to find an answer to the following, so please excuse me if my question has been previoulsy addressed.

I have a 500D and have been using the nightly builds, currently running July18.500D111.
I have been playing with time lapse using the video mode and want to move on to RAW time lapse. I understand the speed limits the card can impose.

I set up the camera for 1FPS and wanted to set the resolution to 1920 but at the bottom of the screen I see the following text.

1920 is not possible in current video mode (max 1568)
Write speed needed: 1.6MB/S at 1FPS.

Apart of the potential card write speed what else limits not being able to record at a higher resolution at a low frame rate.

Have I overlooked something? are there settings I have overlooked that need to be change or is 1586 fixed?

Thanks
