Hello, I just bought an hdmi adaptor to connect my EOSM to my computer. But the device only works on Picture Mode.
If I change the camera to Movie Movie Mode, the screen goes black. Any suggestion on how to display the image on hdmi on Movie mode?

General Chat / Re: The future for ML

In a science fiction world, magic lantern users would have easy access to crazy external hardware,
like this sd card with a "virtual gimbal" intergrated:
https://petapixel.com/2016/08/11/sd-card-built-gyro-sensor-stabilize-shots/

https://github.com/yossato/virtualGimbal

Maybe, we could even attach a smartphone over a camera and use its gyro sensor to stabilize footage

My bad! I thought both were made using Qt and FFMPEG.

Maybe i'm just too attached to the typical UX from render and media encoder apps.

I feel like the overall render experience on MLV App is a little funky,
with the limited preset panels and render settings...

And feels a little bit unnatural the way MLV app freezes while rendering, leaving the user with a progress bar and a Terminal/CMD running in background.

These may be just nitpicking, but something closer to AME or DuMe, or a way to send the rendering file with the color corrections settings to DuMe would be nice.

Hey guys, any plans on improving the render workflow?

I've been testing DuMe, an opensource alternative to Adobe's Media Encoder.
It uses the same tools and framework as MLV App,
and includes tons of render settings and presets that could boost MLV App's rendering experience.

Here's a demo of it:

and Here's their Repo:
https://github.com/Rainbox-dev/DuME
https://rainboxlab.org/tools/dume/

It would be nice to have a way to queue MLVapp project files directly inside DuMe,
or to have part of DuMe's UI + Output Settings inside MLV App.

What do you think?

Hey, i'm testing out the Raw recording for the eosm, i have some newbie questions:

1 - Does the MLV file comes with the Picture Style grading?

2 - Should the MLV footage be darker than the live view output?
I can't ever recover the exposure when i record it at 10bit color range.

Thanks in advance

Hardware and Accessories / Re: EOS M lens suggestions

Dfort posted some tests with cropped lenses here
https://magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=15660

There are some tests here too:

I'm curious about how would you use super8 lenses on EOSM. Can you focus to infinity with them?

Do they need a proper adapter? I mean, they are D-mount, not C-mount, right?

I found this 3d printer model of the C-mount adapter:

And then i tried modifying the model, by pushing the lens mount area 5mm closer to the sensor, like this:

i think the adapter will fit into the eos-m body without hitting anything.
I'm looking after some places here to print it and test it with CS lenses.

Hey, thanks for the reply

I have some more questions about adapted lenses.

Does the C-mount work with CS-Lenses?
And what about D-mount lenses, is there any way to adapt them to work with eos-m and keep infinity focus?

Thanks once again, and sorry if i'm changing the focus of this thread.

+1!
The EOS M became a great replacement for my old t3i!

Quick question:
Where can i research about c-mount lenses for the EOS M?

I'm looking for cheap cctv lenses, but i can't find any details about how they would work on a eos m...

Hi guys, recently i made a short video on my film course.

You guys probably won't understand the jokes in a foreign language, but we used Magic Lantern on it (2 5dII and 1 t3i cameras).

feedbacks are welcome, thanks in advance.
(Sorry about my poor english speech).

Hi everyone, i already asked this question on the 600D FAQ topic, but i didnt't find a response and i think worth asking about it in a specific topic.

Im currently using the Bitrateback version of TL on my T3i, because it has tons of custom settings, like advanced GOP and Slice Control Settings.

I'd really like to try the nightly builds without loosing all the video features that comes with TL Bitrateback mod.

My question is: is it possible to create a module that can handle all these advanced h264 settings, in the newer TL or ML releases?

I read something about the TL security check settings being different from the ML ones, but I dont know if these settings are essential for these tragic lantern features or if a module can bypass them.

And yeah, I know i can change between ML versions by just replacing files, but i think that it could be a good solution to explore more from ML.

Thanks in advance, and sorry about my poor english speech.

hi guys, amazing job!

Noob question: Is it possible to make a module that can edit these settings? With it, we could use newer versions of ML or TL without losing these features.

Thanks in advance, and sorry about poor english speech.
